Discrimination!!! My family Dr. send a referral to Dr. Iain Murray end of February 2023, I left several messages finally March 20.2023 week before my 80th birthday, a secretary answer to phone “Yes we received your referral, but Dr Murray do not see patients over 80 years old!” Discrimination on my age!
***You will be the judge if you want to go and see The Intestinal Health Institute and Dr. Iain Murray!

January 30/23
I had my first colonoscopy and was really disappointed from the receptionist who was unwelcoming & unfriendly to Dr Murray who appears to run an assembly line operation and doesn’t have a great bedside manner. He appeared quite good on the video consultation, but was quite the opposite in person. I was reassured in the consultation that I would be put under, but that was not the case and it was painful. If they don’t put their patients right under, they can have a higher turnover. I will let my family doctor know about my experience and will not return to Dr Murray’s office.

Dr. Murray has been treating my family for over 30 years. His preventive approach has helped with early diagnosis. Highly recommend him as your gastroenterologist.

Exceptionally professional experience from start to finish. I cannot say enough about the word-class level of competency demonstrated.

He told me in 2021 I needed a colonoscopy and would have a date in January 2022. I didn't hear anything until the end of February, never received anything in writing at all, and eventually got a date in mid March. The delay meant my OHIP cover had expired by then, but I was happy to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed by OHIP later. 20 minutes later his office rang to say he'd told them he wouldn't provide treatment *at all*, claiming it was illegal for him bill me. When I rang OHIP they didn't recognise this and neither does anyone else. They thought I should refer him to the CPSO, so I have.
Meanwhile, he has wasted four months of my time, and I have to start all over again with a new referral and new expense, and new delays so I suppose we just have to hope that either I don't have cancer or, if I do, that it is still operable.

Dr Murray and his staff are FANTASTIC!!! So very helpful, kind, courteous. My appointment went so well and I was made very comfortable. Nurse Karen and Leanne were both great to me. Thank you so much for making my appointment go so smooth.

Sincerely,

Paul Genua

Agreed with the comments here. This guy wants to get you off his back vs wanting to help you get better. He's clearly checked out of his career and is just going through the motions. I wasted 1 year trying to get adequate testing from him, but he would refuse to further test me to rule out options. If you read this and are working with him without a diagnosis, go back to your physician and demand another specialist. This guy is a complete, utter waste of time, and your illness will get worse and he will do nothing to help you.

Dr Muray was irritated and annoyed that he had to have a phone consult with me. I found him abrupt and did not feel confident he would take the time needed to do a good job if he could not take a moment to answer questions. I went elsewhere

Do not go to this man. I spent over 3 years in severe bloating and constipation,. When my husband and i went to see him after the colonoscopy he didnt have an answer as to why i was going through this. He actually asked my husband if i have had a drug history. My husband was furious. How does someone say that! My husband said go ahead and take a blood test. Dr. Murray said not necessary. My husband then said how dare accuse someone of that randomly. After that I went to another Dr. who suggested i go to a gynocologist, Guess what i needed surgery repair and a hestorectomy. I received that within one week, I no longer suffer was instantly gone. Would love for him to explain why if he didnt know what the issue is he just didnt say he didnt know. Shame on him. My husband told him straight out hes not competent. Avoid this dr. at all costs! Sorry to the staff which were really nice.

Worst experience of my life. I spent 5 years under his care, in agony, and should have been referred for surgery, which he advised against! This guy is not competant. Read the reviews. People with serious medical problems are not treated properly. His expertise is assembly-line colonoscopies - a quick buck and disinterest are his specialties.
