Went to see Dr.Fu a few years ago and I still think of the terrible experience I had. Her receptionist was rude and Dr. Fu was very cold (not willing to answer questions that were reasonable to ask for someone diagnosed with IBD, such as - how does my diet affect my condition, what changes should I made to my diet, etc). After my first mediation failed/stopped working, she immediately tried to put me on imuran. I had to ask her to consider a different formulation of a 5ASA, which she reluctantly agreed to. I spoke to my GP about changes to my diet and his recommendations really helped. I got a referral to a new GI, who did alot of baseline tests (different blood markers and a bone density scan) that Dr. Fu had never mentioned or done. Dr. Fu also misdiagnosed me, which the new GI was able to correct. I can not imagine how my life would have turned out on Imuran. I pray for her patients that do not have a background in science and are unable to understand medical jargon, or those who do not have the resources (time, energy, etc) to advocate for themselves.

First met Dr. fu 2014 in emergency very efficient and practical had occasion to meet her again in nov.23 again very efficient did a thorough exam and concluded she could not help me but should return to the specialist wrote a letter to him and outlined her concerns at a time I did not know where to proceed she has explained to me the problems and how to proceed She did not have to do this BUT she did My thanks to DR. I had an appointment with Dr. Fu today. She was kind, friendly and very helpful. Her secretary was pleasant and professional. I like how Dr. Fu asks detailed questions about pain/ medical history, when discussing symptoms. Thank you Dr. Fu.

My colonoscopy with Dr. Fu went very smoothly. She explained things as it went along and put me at ease. Prior to the procedure, I was treated well by Wendy who was empathetic. Dr. Fu followed up with a call after the lab results came in and was again very helpful in discussing them.

Both Dr. Fu and Wendy were great. I liked the straight forward approach to my care. Dr. Fu laughed at my humour and stated I reminded her of a character from a TV show and that lightened the mood of my medical situation. She does her job, follows up and shoots straight from the hip and I respect that. I like getting to the point and avoiding the fluffy unicorn, rainbow chit chatter.

Dr. Fu is an amazing doctor. Throughout my IDB journey, Dr. Fu has helped me tremendously. She frequently checks in, and is compassionate and understanding. I always trust that Dr. Fu will make the right decision for my health and condition, and she always makes sure that I am on board with her decisions as well. I feel very lucky to have Dr. Fu as my doctor!

Wendy is a wonderful secretary but Dr. Fu is neglectful. I had a test performed due to my gastrointestinal problems and she never called me back about the results. I have been trying to get ahold of her and my results for over a year. She said she would get back to me but she never did. It has been about a year now. I am going back to my family doctor to see if my doctor has my results and getting a referral for a more responsible specialist. This is not right!!!

Saw Dr Fu for colonoscopy and gastronomy. First time I met her was in the operating room 5 minutes before surgery. Instead of explaining what she was going to do she proceeded to
tell me everything that could go wrong….who the hell does that…never any of the surgeons
I had…this was all so she could get an informed consent…..I told her to stop trying to scare me, let me sign the consent without any further stories of what could go wrong or I’d leave the operating room right then and there. Who knows how skilled and knowledgeable she is but she certainly is lacking in common sense and people skills…therefore she will always be mediocre…..
