Abandonded when I was temporarly out of the state. Would not continue with my MRI or refer me to local treatment.

Refused follow up hospital care for a patient with bilateral multiple pulmonary embolisms. the patient was started on coumadin therapy while in the hospital and he refused ALL follow up care. The patient made and told office staff that she was prepared to pay her co-insurance. She made the requested follow up appointments but later the patient was called by an employee of his office and she told the patient that because of my of insurance he did not want to see me. The employee of his office said she was told to call me and cancel all appointments, including lab appointments to test my coumadin level to maintain or adjust the coumadin depending on my INR results. I have the ability to pay cash but he would not agree to continue following me.

I have been with dr stevens for years and found he is very helpful nomanaly i go for a cold but he always checks to see when i need blood work and bone scan never more than i need. betty and valera are the best!!! he knows how to hire workers and they must like the job cause they have been there forever too now he does get you out fast and thats okay the next person may need more attention than me

does not like patients, does not like to touch patients, does not like to talk to patients. In it for the money, tests done by clinics he owns, and kickbacks for pharmacy sales.

Dr. Stevens is a very good physician. You just have to remember to be prepared with any questions or concerns before your appt. Then hee will give you all the time needed to answer them and will not rush you. Just be prepared so you don't waste his time. Once I learned that, I have always been satisfied with my visits. He shows compassion and concern and is always determined to find out what the medical issue is and do his best to get you better. Very satisfied patient.
