Truly worse than useless. Missed a concussion & broken bone in ER. Didn’t even check for concussion despite the fact that I was brought into the ER by some helpful bystanders when they found me on the side of the road covered in blood and my clothes torn up (bike accident). I didn’t even remember much and had warped understanding of time. That evening I was slurring words and couldn’t think of them so obviously not nothing. I told him that my arm really didn’t feel ok and he dismissed me and told me it’s just sprained and to keep moving. Six months later imaging revealed that I still had a deep fracture because of his “keep moving” advice. Absolute trash.

Dr. Spann is extremely unprofessional, arrogant and rude. I feel he honestly just doesn't care about his patients anymore. I got the feeling like he was just completely over his job and couldnt be more annoyed to be there. I went in and told him how i was feeling and mentioned that i have had both kidney stones and kidney infections before and that those where the symptoms I was having he told me that those symptoms have nothing to do with those conditions and he knows thats not whats wrong with me and all he decided to do was a urine sample, told me everything looked good and tried to just send me home with pain medicine. After i told him i knew something was wrong and I dont want to just go home with pills and not figure it out when he hasnt even tried more than just urine labs he got extremely pissy, ordered a scan for me and told me when the results come back fine i need to go home and he stormed out of the room. Turned out I had both a kidney infection and a kidney stone but he didnt feel like thats what was causing my pain... but also had no idea what. Although i told him its exactly how i felt the last time i had those.
I have honestly heard nothing but terrible things about him from other people as well. it honestly makes me feel very uncomfortable to think i might have to visit the ER again and have to have him as my doctor.

My encounter with Dr. Stefan Spann at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, OR yesterday was so bad that I felt the need to review. I'm not only an experienced mother but a nurse for over 15 years. I brought my very sick 12 year old in with a confirmed case of Strep from his primary Doctor with worsening symptoms such as vomiting, uncontrolled fever and pain. I had discussed going to the hospital for symptom relief with the Clinic on-call prior to bringing him to the ER. Dr. Spann arrogantly underminded the primary Doctor's diagnosis, discounted all our areas of concern, including pain and only prescribed an antiemetic after I questioned his decision not to. No hydration was received, no pain relief, no nausea relief and vitals were not reassessed upon discharge. Not impressed or confident with this Doctor.

He is rude arrogant, won't answer questions, walks out of the room if confronted. How is it he is director of the emergency room. How does he introduce himself. "I'm Stefan", very unprofessional. If he gets a complaint does he follow up on it, do anything more than walk out of the room?

I can't agree more with the other comments on this page. He was "somewhere else" it seemed like. I was very unsure about how he has been able to stay a doctor.

Dr. Spann repeatedly told me he didn't know what to do. He kept asking me what I thought, and said he didn't have any ideas. Really? YOU went to medical school not me. He didn't run labs but said he did. I asked the nurse to double check. He was not at all concerned about why I was in pain. Turns out I had a cyst on my uterus and a severely inflamed bladder and an infection. I would not recommend this doctor under any circumstances.

This doctor told me my labs were "Fine" but when I followed up with my regular doctor we found that was untrue. My labs and my vital signs indicated specific treatment, which this doctor chose to withhold and also chose to tell me that it was all in my head. He made me feel belittled, and frightened
