Dr. Schweitzer diagnosed me with bipolar disorder within 5 min. then he gave me a questionnaire printed on pharmaceutical collateral material, corrected some of my answers which were "do you ever feel happy, are you ever sad?"... And prescribed the medication on the letterhead of the questionnaire for a year. I never had any mental disorders nor family history of mental issues, but it took him the whole 5 minutes to diagnose me with lifelong disorder that requires mental health degree. I have never witnessed higher level of irresponsibility in my entire 40 years of life. I'm a grown woman and know myself so I never took the pills or went back to his office. But he is a family doctor, there are kids in that waiting room, and I can only imagine how quickly he diagnoses them with adhd, autism and so on. I hope and pray that parents know better and check with a trained individual the diagnosis that Dr. Schertzer so easily gives,

My recent experience at Dr. Schertzer was less than satisfactory...upon waiting in the lobby for 30mins to be called in, I was taken into one of the examination rooms where I continued to wait for 45 minutes before being seen by Dr. Schertzer for a 5 minute exam. He did not ask extentive questions when I mentioned my concerns. It was the most brief and vague exam I think I have ever had.I was also suppose to have a procedure done in office, but it was not performed...yet I was billed for it later on and am still trying to resolve the issue with the office staff.Seriously considering switching primary doctors since husband just had similar experience there and received uneffective course of treatment for his aliments which later exasterbated his condition and he ended up having to go to the ER two days later where a Physician Assistant gave him better treatment than our primaray doctor did.

Long waiting time. Do not sit with you to explain in detail what you can do to improve your health. Just tells you bluntly to cut everything from your diet if you are diagnose with a condition. Do not make recommendations whatsoever. Very easily prescribe pills to patients to fix the problem. The PA's are trained to do the same. Not very happy with the doctor. Time to find a doctor who takes the time to care for their patients and their needs.

I have been going to Dr. Schertzer for about 10 years now and I have had enough. It is nothing like it used to be. Staff is poor and acts inpatient, same with the PA's, you get the feeling they just want to get the appointment over with as soon as possible. I call for an appointment with the doctor and I come in and I get a PA with allot less knowledge. I dont want to wait for 2 hours or more and then pay over $100 to see a PA and one who acts like she wants to get me out of the office in 5 minutes. Last perscription I got from him cost me over $80, I did that until the Pharmacy told me you can get the same thing for $10.95. I guess thats why there are so many reps from drug companies sitting in his office all the time. When I called to get the script changed to the recommended alternative. I finally got to speak to one of the PA's - the first words out of her mouth were you have to come in for an appointment. This complete lack of all integrity is sad. Not going back there again.

I have been going to Doctor Schertzer for over 10 years now. I am very happy with the service I receive there. Sure you might wait a little longer but he is there for you when needed and does not rush you through your appointment, hence the wait time. I use one of his physicians assistants and find her as knowledgable and concerned as he is. The office help has always been friendly and for the most part helpful. As far as the RX sales reps go, I will put up with them for the simple reason I have been given samples of medications that have not worked as they should on me and did not have to waste money buying a 30 day supply. This has saved our family some money over the years. I would recommend Dr. Schertzer and his staff without hesitation. I feel very comfortable talking with them about anything that is wrong with me.

On a typical day, there are more pharm. reps in his waiting room than patients (and there are plenty of patients). Never on time.

The receptionists rush patients off the phone and they don't care about delays. It is not easy to obtain a referral to an scpecilalist.... This office is not as it used to be before. I haven't seen Dr. Schertzer in two visits. I saw phisician's assistants twice. Dr Schertzer is great, but his staff don't care about the patients well-being.

Cannot get test results over the phone, must go in for an appt. Misplaced medical records. Seems when you need a photocopy you have to call back three or four times to get it. Dr. Schertzer is very personable and seems to know what he is doing. The staff does not know what they are doing for the most part. As far as wait time, it is probably no better or worse than most offices that are overloaded with patients. I find that when I ask a question when the office makes a mistake they get defensive. This happened a number of times. Not happy with the PAs. If this continues I will seek another doctor.
