I was admitted to another hospital for day surgery to have my thyroid removed; went into respiratory failure, spent 2 wks on the ventilator. After I was weaned off the vent, the doc wanted to put me on hospice, but my spouse would not consent. Then when I did not die, the doc started telling my spouse to prepare for the rest home. After enduring this for 60 days, my spouse moved me to Kindred SW where Dr Bismar was the admitting doc and in 4 days I had made a remarkable turnaround. He was so kind and considerate. If my spouse was not in the room when he made his rounds, he looked her up elsewhere in the hospital to update her.. Spent 30 days with him at Kindred and since going home have continued to see him even tho the drive is 100 miles. Sometimes the wait to see him is long, but with the care you receive, it is well worth it. Will continue to see him until the day I die!

This doctor saved my husband's life. Had been under the care of another pulmonologist for several months and made no progress. After 3 days with Dr Bismar, he was one the road to recovery.
