A NYC rarity: an upper echelon physician with a warm, non-condescending, attentive and caring bedside manner! Few specialists of his education and calibre respond with such alacrity and knowledge in what feels like a completely personalized, well-thought, and commanding professional comportment. I feel like he knows MY health issues and not just my chart -- he truly engages WITH the patient and doesn't talk AT them. I felt that he spent a lot of time with the initial diagnosing visits -- taking history, details, etc. He presents a clear, non-pressured, non-conceited, intelligent phalynx of treatment choices, possibilities and plans, guiding you by answering all your questions and concerns every step of the way.The staff at some of his offices are obviously 9-5ers that could use some professional etiquette lessons but Dr. Canfield's expertise more than compensates for the little bureacratic nigglings of life! He is a great allergist!
