This doctor was rude, argumentative and rolled her eyes at me many times. I usually walked out of her office more depressed than when I went in. I was thankful for her help with my medications and such but she has no bedside manner. I was happy when I finally got another doctor and did not have to deal with her any longer.

She is better then no doctor but there is room for improvement in her treatment. I suffered from mental illness, and she was able to correctly diagnose the mental illness that I suffered from. However, she was unable to determine the root cause of a symptom I was suffering from, and she kept trying to change the medication, when in fact the issue I was having had nothing to do with mental illness. This was something that I suspected for a while, but when I proposed to test for this health issue, she suggested it was unnecessary. I finally had the test done and it came up positive. This took 5 years of living with the symptoms before I figured this out, and I wish she would have ordered the test right away. I would not suggest she provides the best service.

Dr. Smith Pelletier spent 10 years working very very patiently with me to find the right medication combination for me and my bipolar disorder. She didn't give up, and she took my health -- all aspects of it -- very seriously. She cares about her patients and has strong ethics. If it weren't for her I would not be mentally healthy at all, I would be a homeless drug addict.

She has no training in psychiatry -- only a diploma in psychotherapy (money well-spent given her rude manner). S.P.'s manner is to reduce the patient to a stereotype & over-medicate, MISDIAGNOSE. She is to medicine what Donald rumsfeld is to defence.

I have found Dr. SP to be a wonderful professional. In reading the previous posts, I feel that people are upset primarily because they didn't immediately get the medication they demanded. Dr. SP certainly will prescribe medication, but I find she takes a much more holistic approach. She actually tries to address the illness itself, and not just the symptoms. My wife suffers from bipolar disorder and I feel we owe a large part of the "good days" to Dr. SP.

After 20+ years of being misdiagnosed with depression and being told my only hope was a life of antidepressants, Dr. Carolyn was the only doctor that took the time to actually find the cause of my lifelong mental health issues (PTSD). She's not a pill-pusher like all the other doctors & psychiatrists I've seen over the years. She actually CARES about her patients mental health and her group therapy sessions were the ONLY thing that gave me hope of a normal life.

I have been trying to contact dr smith pelletier with my ergent request for medication renewal for 7 DAYS. Today she called me and said that if I dont go to see her at her office, she will no longer prescribe my needed meds. I understand she cant perscribe me meds without a 'face to face', shoudnt she have aranged another house visit? Im not going anywhere anytime soon, so anytime will do. I know her shedual is full, and it is an inconvienance, should that fact be allowed to hinder my health care? when I talked to her superiour, I was informed that dr. smith palletier WOULD perscribe my meds, IF i was to walk outside to the corner of my street and meet her. My pharmisist was kind enough to give give me 3 days of medication, that ran out today. Im not sure what the proceedure is for removing some ones medication, but im guessing that 'calling me the same day i run out of medication, to tell me i will get no more' isnt ethical or legal. Thankfully her superior is trying to help.
