Had my first appointment this week and just love him! Believes the patient is responsible for his/her own health and that the body with the right food, exercise & mindset heals itself - not over used meds that mask the root cause of the problem and cause more problems down the road. Yes he has a no nonsense approach which might torn some off, but I'd rather have a direct competent doc then one that is very sweet and just writes prescriptions!

This physician is extremely knowledgeable but is a total A-hole. Condescending is only one of many adjectives I could use. I worked with Dr. Silverstein on the cardiac step down unit at St Francis in the 1980's and he was horrid to the staff and nurses and made inappropriate comments to me that in today's workplace would constitute sexual harrassment.

Simply a brilliant physician who is not afraid to do what is right while avoiding the trappings of the built in temptation of greed in traditional medicine. The truth he tells sometimes is a threat to the do called "Traditional" M D. who's main motivation is often your wallet! Read his book "Maximum Healing" ! It says and tells you all you need to know about him and all you need to know to heal yourself!. He is a straight shooter and spends the time needed to tell you the truth fully that you may not want to hear... but you need too! He treats all of his patients as an integrated system....mind, body and spirit!
I am a second generation patient with Silverstein and I am happy to recommend him to any and all in need.......
He is a man who was thinking beyond his time 20 years ago when the great and highly regarded Dr Oz was just In medical school...

Dr. Silverstein is knowledgable it seems but his disposition is horrible. The most important aspect to being a physician is one's ability to relate to the patient on a human level with some semblance of caring and humility. Dr. Silverstein has no such caring nor humility enough to relate to the patient. He is gruff, arrogant, aloof, downright rude, acts as though you are there to serve him instead of he to serve you. He may have gone to Med school but he failed to learn that it is unpleasant enough for people to go to the doctor, it is not his role to make it even more unpleasant and uncomfortable. He should have perhaps chosen a different career, his personality and disposition is not suited for a doctor. His staff is not very friendly either, be prepared to wait far longer than your scheduled appointment time, they have no problem making you wait for an hour, but if you accidentally miss an appointment, they will try to charge you for that. Better to find a doctor with a heart.

Quite a nasty personality. He might (or not) be competent, but if he were the only doctor that could save my life, I'd rather be dead. (On his TV show he oozes sweetness ... but in person, he oozes venom).

/i have a history of migraines. Dr. Silverstein treated me with a change of diet and has changed my life. He ran a huge series of blood tests and ultrasould my thyroid. He found what could be wrong and help. His belief is that some day doctors won't prescribe medicine but will used food and lifestyle to be health. I love this man.

Gratuitously nasty. (from 2 visits many years ago. Maybe he's less nasty now. Has a local TV show where he just drips kindness and sweetness ... but alone with him in his office he can be quite snide).
