Dr. Akbari showed compassion and care with genuine humor. Cancer is a serious issue but, Dr. Akbari has been there for me and calmed my fears using humor as a distraction. So many physicians are cold and uncaring. They make you feel like you should be grateful that they even saw you. Dr. Akbari doesn't do that to his patients. I'm thankful to him and wish there were more Doctor's like him.

Dr. Akbari is the most caring, helpful, personnable Surgeon I have met, and he is a PRO at what he does! I was a difficult case, with underlying issues, but his job was par to none! I can't fathom how anyone could write a bad review about him-he spent time with me and wasn't just a "cut and see ya" kind of Surgeon-he was interested in getting to know his patients as well-butthe results of the surgery he performed on mewere and are impeccable-so it is always good to get a second opinion, but with "my book Friend"-no need! There isn't anything in his field that he can't do!

I went as a referral following the birth of my first child. He basically told me there was a 50% chance he could perform the surgery, but there was only a 30% chance it would work. And I would have to wear a colostomy bag for 3 months. I got a second opinion from a surgeon in Boston, she performed the surgery, no problems at all, no colostomy. Get a second opinion.

Dr. Akbari is not only a superb surgeon, he is the kindest,most caring, dedicated physician I have met in my life. Anyone who needs a colo-rectal doctor should consider Dr. Akbari before seeing anyone else in the Southeastern New England area.
