Dr Ayers did a total knee replacement on me a few years back. Other than a little arthritis in that knee, which is to be expected, he did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for an orthopedic surgeon.

I had my left hip fully replaced at South Shore Hospital. Dr. Ayers and his staff are very professional and thoughtful. I would recommend Dr. Ayers in a heart beat.

Had knee replacement a year ago. Went back at 5 month mark with increasing pain. Dr. Speculated I could have a neurological condition triggered by TKR, but offered no referral or advice as to treatment. Limited engagement with his patients. I have since gone to another doctor for care, with pain still present and limiting activity. At least subsequent doctor is trying to diagnose, more than Ayers ever did. To quote him: "My job is done."

Dr Ayers is a compassionate and concerned physician. He ia a great listener. He is an excellent surgeon. My post opertive care was excellent. In reading other comments, I can see where he is not tolerate obvious drug abusers. Good for him.

condescending, refused to answer questions, appeared to lack knowledge about recovery and management of the fracture type I had, refused appointments to deal with post op complications, refused to deal with post op pain management issues that arose, refused to provide short term anesthesia to set bad ankle fracture/dislocation, on call at level 2 trauma center that according to Dr Ayers, had no Propofol available to use in the hospital and no anesthesiologist on call nor availabe to deal with issues in the emergency service. Refused to provide information about medications prescribed, his staff also refused to provide this information. Freqently when asked questions gave false medical information. When asked to explain why he said this when medical lit said that............no answer.
