I was just banded on 1/6/2015 and Dr. Shayani is the best hands down! He is attentive, assessable, and warm hearted. I'm so glad I chose him. He's the best! And very knowledgeable about the lap band surgery! I'm very Happy!😁

I heard about Dr. Vafa Shayani from a few friends that I work with that have gotten the LapBand from him in the last 3 years... They all have had success, some more than others.. And I found that the ladies with the most success were the ones that followed all of his instructions to a tee.. So I made my first appointment and I am so glad that I did.. He was so friendly and had a gentle nature and charm that made me feel very comfortable and he genuinely seems to really like what he does.. I completed all the pre testing and obtained all of my clearances and I just had my LapBand surgery with Dr. Shayani on 08/15/14. Bolingbrook Adventist staff were great and they kept me really comfortable.. My insurance requires an overnight stay as for this type of surgery.. So I was discharged on 08/16/14 with some liquid pain medicine and my follow up will be 08/22/14... I've been sticking to his rules of all liquids and taking pain med as he directs and I feel great... I am a little sore but that is to be expected, and I'm trying to keep my movements limited for the next few days as he suggested... It's only been two days in the incisions and everything already look really good.. Go see Dr. Shayani!!!!!!!!!!!! It is life changing and he will help you along you weight loss journey

Best doctor ever! Nicest possible, answers all questions if emailed. Did my band and my gallbladder surgery. (Separately unfortunately but unavoidable) I feel like I have the best care with him. So glad my doctor referred me to him.

I had bariatric surgery with Dr. Shayani back in 2007. And i have nothing but great things to say. First a foremost he is a surgeon whom truly cares about his patients. He believes in the surgery he performs and you can tell he got into this line of work because he wants to help people not because of financial benefits. He has excellent bedside manner with a kind a caring spirit. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is seeking for a Lap-Band Surgeon. He has truly changed my life for the better and will always have a special place in my heart. If i ever needed another surgery again and he was qualified to perform it i wouldn't even hesitate to go to him.
