I was a patient of Dr Lang's since I was child. (He was a fabulous dentist with a great chair side manor) When Dr Yoo took over his practice we stayed for a few years. The hygienists were nice and Dr Yoo seemed nice enough - though not as relaxing to be in her chair as with Dr Lang. I've now come to the conclusion that Dr Yoo is a very high achiever, who wants to make a lot of money as a dentist. Dr Yoo recommended I have a costly comprehensive exam done, after which she prescribed about $12K worth of Orthodontic work to be done (With probably only a teeny portion if any covered under insurance since I'm an adult). Being a patient of Dr Lang's she had access to my entire dental history of which she did not refer to. During the follow up She kept asking my dental history questions and considering I had considerable work done as a child, I thought that looking at my charts should've been something that she did with that large fee that I was charged for the comprehensive exam. Also, during the follow up she showed me (actually sent me home with a folder full) of SEVERAL photos of peoples mouths telling me this was what I could expect if I didn't get the work done. These mouths looked like worse case scenarios to me. I am a patient who has good dental coverage, who goes to the dentist every 6 months as my coverage allows, so I had a hard time believing her dooms day scenarios for my mouth. After seeking a second opinion, I was told that I did not need the work that Dr Yoo had prescribed - as I was someone who sought regular dental care. The new dentist (who came highly recommended to me as having an honest opinion) told me he'd keep an eye on things and after 2 years...the problem Dr Yoo 'found' has not changed and has not caused me ANY of the issues she said would occur. My recommendation is...get a second opinion if she starts showing you dooms day photos of terrible looking teeth that are not your own to get you to sign on to a costly orthodontic plan!

Dr Amy is a caring, knowledgable dentist. I have great confidence in her care of my teeth. A year ago she diagnosed that I was grinding my teeth when I told her I was having neck pain and occasional headaches. After throughly measuring me for an appliance, I no longer have the tension in my neck or shoulders. It is miraculous, and I am very grateful. Lynnette does an awesome job with my cleanings and I have had no filling sfor over 7 years.
There is another dentist in her practice now and I sincerely hope that she will return.

Dr. Yoo is caring, kind and professional. She is up to date on the latest technology. The clinic has a really nice open concept with lots of plants. The clinic runs like a well oiled machine with very good assistants that have worked with her for a long time.

Dr. Yoo was the first Dentist to tell me about damage happening to my mouth. I have been suffering for years from pain in my jaw and a few headaches per month. She discussed the damaging signs in my mouth such as fractures in my teeth, wear, and the most alarming to me was when she showed me the pictures she took of the amount of bone loss around my teeth. Being in my mid-30's, a regular flosser and having braces in my late teens I thought my mouth was healthy! I have recently received an orthodic to align my bite. Within 2 days of wearing it the aching in my jaw was gone. I had a headache for a day after getting my orthodic, but Dr. Yoo said this was from the tensing and my muscles in my face and neck re-aligning themselves. I am coming up to my 3 week adjustment and I haven't had a headache since. The odd time I take out the orthodic for the evening to see what happens, but within an hour i'm wanting to put it back in because my jaw muscle starts to ache like it did in the past.

Dr. Yoo is knowledgeable. However, do not be 5 minutes late. (I was a patient of Dr. Lang's prior to Dr. Yoo. He was wonderful...patient and kind and a great dentist.) I was given a lecture on being late from Amy. I did not appreciate it after having to wait for her for about 20 minutes on a previous appointment. If you don't want to wait for me then don't expect me to wait for you either when you are running late.

Dr.Yoo is a nice lady, but the cleaning staff are always distracted and i don't think they do a great job. i was a long time patient of the clinic in mount royal. but the reception staff is horrible minus the lady that has been there since i was a kid Susan. I do wish they did direct billing to the insurance company. would save time. and i would probably go back. Hate having to save up to go to dentist

She seems to have an attitude problem. She asked me to let her do neuromuscular theraphy after taking a very short course which she of course did't mention. It is not satisfacory and now sheseemsto think that shecan just walk away from it. I don't know jkust how du9mb she thinks I am but I have had it done back in 1962 and again in the 990's by avery good dentist and I can tell when it is right and when it isn't. Infortunately he is now retired so I am at the moment stuck with her. The course she took should be abolished as it is too short to properly train them and there is not enough experience to get it right.

Can't say much about staff. I actually haven't seen Dr. Yoo in a few years, as I moved cities. I had her for a year or so at North Hill Dentrix and LOVED her, though. Then, I went to make an appt. and it was a different dentist (come to think of it, I think she sent out a letter saying she was leaving that particular office). I was not happy with the new dentist at all. Suddenly I had *13* cavities??? Anyways, I never bothered to track down Dr. Yoo since I was going to move, but I remember her gentleness (she had a nice technique with the freezing needle), kindness, compassionate nature, and I thought she was a fantastic dentist. She did my crown work :)

I can't say much about staffs, but the best part is that Dr. Yoo is the only dentist my children would go without any fear. They don't have fear and don't cry with Dr. Yoo and they enjoy their visits. We recommended many friends to her with much happiness. I will always find Dr. Yoo as long as I live in Calgary.
