This doctor was covering for my regular Doctor. I called with questions around a dental emergency. He was rude, not helpful and asked me "well what do you want me to do about it?" Terrible service.

A bit too efficient. Obviously knowledgeable, but took the time explaining proceedures etc. prior to the dental surgery. When I really needed the help and was in a lot of pain afterwards, I felt that I was given minimal followup. One quick appt, just a bit of verbal information that was hard to process when you are hurting. I would have felt better if they had given some written information at follow up or directed me to a good website. Right now I am worried that I have dry socket but those are not even words I heard from the dentist. Good, but needs better follow up at the end. A practical funtion of the billing process I guess though, since the quick follow up check was not a appointment I paid extra for. I think the surgery was well done and thats what counts in the end, but as a patient, a bit more follow up would help.

I found this doctor rude and overall impersonal. He extracted 4 wisdom teeth on my daughter and his work was good but overall experience was unimpressive, especially with his personality!

I saw this surgeon to have 2 canines removed and the 2 impacted canines powerchained into place for my braces. I am a person that does not like the concept of surgery at all and become very nervous just thinking about it. My experience was EXCELLENT!! I was asleep with the gas, and could hear people talking, but couldn't feel anything, even the stuff I could hear, I was too 'drugged' up to care. Afterwards in recovery, they let me rest as long as I needed, explained and gave me written instructions, and were very helpful with everything. Post-op wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. There was only some slight discomfort from the surgical sites, but it wasn't painful. I am due to get my 2 lower wisdom teeth out and planning on going back to see this Surgeon. *for the person that questioned why they ask for money up front...working for a surgeons office before....they ask for it because they don't want to try and get you to pay while you're all drugged up..lol* :D

Dr. Gusenbauer has performed 2 procedures on me. 1. Extraction of all 4 wisdom teeth 2. Extraction of molar. I was very satisfied with his quality of work for both of these. I had no bruising and very minimal if any swelling. I was only on pain medication the day of my procedure, no need for any. He obviously knows what he is doing. I found him very personable and the staff were friendly and answered any questions I had. They also provided me with instructions and encouraged me to call if I needed anything. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an oral surgeon.

I called his office and asked for an appt. which was to be 3 months later. Quite a wait. I went in and he talked for about half an hour or so, gave me a diagnosis on something he flat out didn't tell me he specialized in, and then charged me a well over enough amt. of money. It was ridiculous and why, because when you tell a doctor how long you've waited for something to be done, and then you see them finally for it, they should easily just tell you they can't do it- don't make an initial exam and then tell you what they think, maybe a little tip of helpful info for all of your waiting, and then you leave after not even ten minutes, without having to go through the hassle of paying anything. Thats what I think. I don't wait 3 months to hear someone tell me what they think the problem is for 30 minutes and then charge me an arm and a leg. I left and continued on a more than 2 year wait to this date.

i went and saw this doctr to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed. My surgery was done in the hospital due to my epilepsy and he was very understanding about that. I had NO dry socket or swelling after the surgery which i thought was great. I referred my sister to him and he removed all her wisdom teeth as well and she had NO complications at all. For those who have had dry socket know that you get it from smoking or sucking on a straw, freezie etc... after the procedure even when your told not to in order to PREVENT dry socket. He is very blunt and straight to the point and i would rather have a doctor like that than one who wouldn't be upfront with me. I had 3 seizures during my procedure and he and the nurses handled it calmly and in a professional manner. This is one of the best doctors out there and would recommend him to anyone.

This surgeon was completely rude and dismissive when I saw him when my surgeon was off. He was rude and dismissive. he didn't let me talk. He would ask me a question and then just tell me to open wider instead of letting me answer. He said my post op pain was from not brushing or rinsing even though I was, and prescribed me an antibiotic even though he said I did not have an infection.I saw my regular surgeon today and he diagnosed and treated my dry socket in two minutes. Dr. Gusenbauer is not only rude, but incompetent as well as dry socket is one of the most easily diagnosed and easily treated post op complications.

The initial visit for wisdom teeth extraction went very well. Staff are courteous. My son felt very much at ease and everything was well explained. The surgical outcome went very well and there were no side affects. The surgical nurses are very caring and explain everything well to the anxious parents but I found it disturbing how Dr. Gusenbauer doesn't take the time to breeze in for a moment and at least say something. He disappears into another room and doesn't even look at you while your child is on the recovery bed, as if he doesn't care, now that he's done and has your money. A bit of a meat factory, but I was happy there were no complications or bad memories. My own procedure went well and he's very gentle. They're pretty well all comparable these days--good surgical skills and zero bedside manner, right?
