I had cancer and he knew for 6 months and never told me. He didn’t care and he didn’t help. My family doctor helped me tremendously but Dr. Abu Bakare was completely useless.

I like this doctor. He was very professional, very knowledgeable and spent the time to explain things to me.

I had thyroid cancer and it was obvious that he had not reviewed my results as he is reading them out loud and says, Oh! Yes you have cancer! Your thyroid needs to come out, which ENT do you want the fast one or the best one? All follow up appt's he only spoke to my husband and what a rollercoaster ride with Synthroid dose it was as it took several appts 6 months apart to get my T3/T4 and TSH levels normal. I also had my parathyroid glands taken out by accident by the surgeon and he wasn't overly concerned but it is a big deal as now I have to take 5000mg of calcium and prescription Calcitrol to help absorb the calcium daily. My last appointment he told my husband I didn't need to see him and he was removing me off his roster ( again, ignored me) I am now 50 and can speak for myself and manage my health. 5 yrs later my cancer care Dr. is still treating me as he should of kept monitoring me as I don't have a thyroid and parathyroid glands. My cancer care doctor, Dr. Anthes is the best!

I've had the misfortune of having to see this guy as he's the only Endocrinologist is our city. All three appointment I left feeling that I was an inconvenience to him! Very dismissive, made me feel stupid for asking a question. He questioned why another doctor, and Nurse Practitioner ordered tests, biopsy prior to referal to him. Dismissed all test results. Sat in the room while he looked at computer for 8 mins not saying anything. Spoke a few words then back to computer and said nothing. I have no answers to what's going on with my Thyroid. I walked out confused, frustrated and crying.I will never see this quack again! The staff on the other hand are all wonderful! Very helpful! They deserve a raise for working with him! Horrible experience!

I have been a patient of Dr. Abu Bakare for years. I find him thorough and helpful. He follows up with me yearly to make sure I am okay. He has a great sense of humor and is supportive. I think it's all in the way you approach him! I will continue to see him as long as I need to!

I can’t stand going to see this guy it literally ruins my day!! after being a doctor for a very long time you would think the staff could figure out the scheduling so they are t running 2hrs behind every….single….day! I just don’t get it. I’ve seen this guy a bunch of time and not once has he even ask me about symptoms or anything….I can’t wait for this guy to retire!

I didn't ask to see an endocrinologist but was referred by my GP. A couple of visits nothing done just paper shuffling basically. suppose to follow up with me been nothing but crickets for 3 years. I recently had to have another biopsy and am going to ask for another doctor who I hope will show more interest.

I have been under his care for many years - initially for Graves’ disease and now to monitor my thyroid levels. I have always found him helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable. He is not reactive but does what is necessary given the circumstances. He is quiet and reserved but still expresses that he wants the best for my health and even cracks a joke here or there. He usually runs late but he is the only endocrinologist in the city and likely has a busy schedule. My experience with him has been very positive.

Dr Abu-Bakare is very professional, informative and mostly understanding. He completely reviewed my file, discussed it with me in detail. Came up with a plan for my thyroid medication, explained why he did, ordered blood tests every 6 weeks to monitor me and an appointment scheduled in 12 weeks. I am so pleased I was referred to him.
