I agree he is rude and does not care. He is not punctual. Patient hv to wait a lot. If you dare to ask question, he may insult and ask you to leave

I’ve had two appointments with him- the first one I left feeling slightly frustrated and felt like he was somewhat rude and dismissive but maybe I was over reacting? The second appointment I left feeling rage at how rude and dismissive he is, doesn’t like to be asked questions, in fact wouldn’t even let me finish a sentence before beginning his answer.

Didn't once look at me. Paternalistic and out of date with knowledge. Didn't like to be asked questions. Time for him to retire.

I have been under the care of Dr. Abu Bakare for several years. I had horrible diabetic problems and was close to going on insulin. Now I have perfect numbers and feel awesome. It took some time to figure out what medications are right for me. He never gave up. I truly enjoy my visits with him. Am so shocked to see such bad reviews. Dr. Abu Bakare saved my life.

I would not recommend this doctor if you have a parathyroid problem. He is very defensive and does not want to hear any feedback. He is arrogant, and downplayed the seriousness of my condition. Thunder Bay does not have "cream of the crop" here.

I have been diabetic for 30 years and no complications. I do however struggle with thyroid or Hashimotos disease. This doctor not only told me he doesn't believe in insulin resistance but also told me my thyroid isn't fluctuating, that it is my GPS fault for not testing correctly. Not only was he so unhelpful he told me that the reasons I have trouble with fluctuations is because I am "an obese diabetic." I am 5'10 and 165 pounds with a BMI of 26. I wear a dress size of 4 and I work out almost every day. Not only did blame any health issues on the fact that I am 'obese' he also did not look up the facts because a BMI of 26 is not even close to obese. Do not go to this doctor. The government will pay for a flight to Toronto and two night stay so you can see a real endochronologist. Do not take this man's advice as I believe based on my last two visits that his lack of knowledge could be evidence that he is a fraud.

Was very very very grateful to have met Dr. Abu-Bakare. In fact my family doctor had me worried about meeting him and I delayed my initial appointment, to my own detriment.

Dr.Abu-Bakare is probably THE WORST DOCTOR I've ever seen in my life. He told me that because I don't meet HIS criteria for insulin pump therapy that he would not be submitting my application to the government for funding. It's not like I am way out of wack but I have a hard time keeping my sugars under control which is why I need/use a pump, but without government funding, it is very very expensive and hard to afford by myself. That being said, I 100% meet the criteria for government funding that the Canadian government sets out, it is just the so-called "Doctor" that says I don't and he is now playing with MY health because he has some personal issue with me apparently.

THIS IS DISGUSTING and he shouldn't legally be able to practise medicine ANYWHERE on earth, nevermind Canada. I would highly recommend you go elsewhere or if you are in Thunder Bay, try to get into the Centre for Complex Diabetes Care that is run by Dr.Malik, he is a great man and after my first appointment I was blown away that there is actually someone how wants to help people and let them get back to living their life.
