Dr Brachey is good enough, but not my cup of tea. He is long-winded, loud, and somewhat abrasive. I was unimpressed at his willingness to let me continue on a medication I’ve been on for years and use on an as-needed (prn) basis. Instead, he prescribed an additionally daily medication, which wasn’t what I was wanting. He also refused to prescribe a medication I’ve been on for more than 10 years, as he believes it’s a crutch and a completely unnecessary medication in somebody my age. I decided to overlook it & give him a try, but have concerns over his billing practices. It appears he bills for the amount of time you are in an exam room (not the amount of time he’s in with you), as no visit has cost the same. Meanwhile, he takes his time explaining his beliefs to you, and increasing your time in the exam room. As a former nurse, I don’t need somebody to hold my hand and explain everything to me. I also don’t need somebody referring me out to multiple specialists for an issue I’ve had my entire life & is well managed. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
