Fantastic doctor if you are willing to listen. He may come across crass but it is usually justified.

Very rude and condesending. From a nursimg standpoint if you know your patient and knows what's best he will act like you have no knowledge of the matter and don't know how to deal with things and act like a jerk

He has been my doctor through my entire debacle with anorexia and though he did fully understand, he was never judgemental or harsh. 10/10. He is a very caring person.

He is one of the most arrogant, insensitive and rude human beings I have met. It is scary and unfortunate he is in the health care profession. I would never like to be treated by him again. I can appreciate the knowledge and time it takes to become a doctor, but they are just people.... the same as the ones they are treating. It saddens me that he feels he is above others, and treats people as such.

Knowledgeable, thorough, and caring. Absolutely the person you want looking after you if you are unwell (this can be said from both a patient perspective and from a nursing standpoint).

Not a doctor I would recommend. Knowledge outside his close mineded profession is poor. Willing to prescirbe medication with known deadly or toxic side effects with little or no long term studies. Think outside the medical box- there are several proven methods other then your prescription pad.

Actually the rating scale doesn't even begin to measure his talents---I would rate him as a 13 out of 10. He has looked after me for the past 17 years and I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for the high quality care he provided. This brilliant family physician could have gone to John Hopkins or Havard for teaching and research, but he chose to stay in a rural community in southwestern Ontario where his compassion, dedication, and knowledge have been treasured by town of St. Mary's. So it is with great regret that I bid him a fond farewell and wish him all the best in the future. Kindest regards from a very satisfied patient!!!

Rude, rough, and self-righteous. Both times I have dealt with Dr.Gatfield he has been extremely unpleasant to be examined by. While his diagnosis have been correct, and that part I greatly appreciated, his actual care is appalling.

Dr. Gatfield is a knowledgeable, thorough, no-nonsense doctor. He helped us when we visited St.Marys and I believe that this town should be very thankful for such a gem. He could do very well for himself in a big city but he chooses to serve where he does because he's clearly not in it for the money eg. Phoning me as I left town to check on my daughter...he didn't make any money on that!
