I recently underwent a surgical procedure via colonoscopy performed by Dr Haniak and I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of care and expertise I received. From the initial consultation to post-operative follow ups, Dr Haniak has shown exceptional professionalism and care. He took time to thoroughly explain the procedure, addressing all my concerns and ensuring I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. His manner was warm and reassuring, easing any pre-colonoscopy anxiety I may have had. His surgical skill was evident, resulting in a successful outcome. The post-op report was timely and thorough, detailed and professional, yet easy to understand.
I sincerely recommend Dr Haniak to anyone seeking a skilled and compassionate gastroenterologist as he has truly earned my gratitude.

I was referred by GP for an endoscopy. He called beforehand. When I went to LGH I saw this cowboy jumping and clowning around in the prep area like he was at a arty. Clearly likes his position of power. I opted to not get the fentanyl as I would then have to stay much longer. He rammed the scope in like he was a plumber snaking a toilet. Guess when his victims are doped they don't respond to this violence. When the nurse told him I was not drugged he was clearly unhappy but continued as before. I was gagging and spewing but he just covered my face with a cloth. When it finally ended he said why didn't you breathe through your nose which became plugged immediately after insertion in response to his jerky movements. Not impressed with his typical arrogant and elitist behaviour and will not go to him again.

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I have been seeing him for 22 years and have scoping every year as I have a genetic related cancer. My entire family has seen him and my sister and father saw him every year since I first went as well. We have all had a very good experience with him. He's very busy so he may seem rushed at times but the care and knowledge he has is second to none. He can be upfront and blunt but that's just how he is. He tells you the issues how they are and I'm guessing some people want the issues sugar coated? I have never once out of 22 scoping ever had any issues with him.

Okay, I wish I made a complaint to the college of physicians when this happened to me about 2 years ago, because it truly felt like an assault. My colonoscopy hurt like hell, I wasn’t fully under the anesthetic, I yelled ouch- he said “she won’t remember it”, and forced the scope in. I’ll never forget it. I told my gp that it wasn’t a good experience- but he didn’t inquire further. I wish I had made a formal complaint. I know it wouldn’t be his first.

I have being seeing Dr Haniak for years. He has given me a great quality of life for years. When another Dr just said I had to live with my pain. I think he is a great Dr. 5 stars for him and his staff I live in Vernon and Travel to Vancouver to see him.

Dr. William Haniak is a great doctor. He’s very understanding and listens to your concerns. He takes time with each patient to help them with their health issues. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a specialist.

I would NEVER recommend this person for medical care. This doctor is the worst kind of dismissive - he didn't bother to even ask me a single question. I have tried to brush off rudeness and incompetence from my one telephone appt and it still wakes me at night in anger. I don't understand how anyone could find him helpful. My symptoms are worsening and now I will have to wait for months to see someone else before I can get any help with this.

I met with him on at least three occasions. Rude, disinterested, and incorrectly diagnosing my problem. As my situation deteriorated I realized I needed to switch to a different gastroenterologist. Fortunately I was referred to someone who was the exact opposite and very helpful. My problem was properly treated and I am now cured. I would discourage anyone from using this marginally competent individual cruise

I had two phone appointments with Dr. Haniak, with the idea to schedule a colonoscopy, and during both of them, I listened to him be very aggressive and interruptive with his communication with me. I also listened to his receptionist become unnecessarily escalated in her verbatim on the phone. There is ZERO chance I could feel comfortable having this GI dr. do any procedure or exam on me considering his Aggro deMEANour.
