Excellent Doctor, I was lucky to be referred to her. Professional, knowledgeable amd caring. Always enjoyed going for my appointments. Dr. Purvis has a wonderful receptionist/secretary who is also professional, kind and caring. A team like this is rare.

Was assessed by Dr Purvis, no clear diagnosis. Was called later that she wanted to start me on Methotrexate. I started meds, and was not comfortable how this came about. Requested my Family Doctor send me to get a second opinion. When I went to get my X-ray reports from the connected imaging clinic in her building, Dr Purvis found out an I received a letter via mail she dismissed as a patient.
Two issues breach of confidentiality by the imaging clinic and dismissed by Dr Purvis for seeking a second opinion.

Stay away from this doctor if you have a chronic illness and are looking for a patient centered approach. I was in my early twenties when I saw her Dr Purvis and she failed to diagnose me with a disease that fits under her purview. She was threatened when I brought knowledge and previous findings to my visit (as she noted in my consult note about "my binder"), intimidated that my caregiver accompanied me as a second set of ears (as she judged my "overbearing mother" in her report) and falsely accusatory ("I bet you use cannabis- you're one of those young people" - Um nope! Might need to start after this visit though). Be wary if you're a young person with an education and a pain condition. She is uninterested in using her rheumatological training to help you.

I went to her a couple of years ago with complaints that I won't get into. Although my issues were not rheumatoid, it ended up that I had a bacterial infection that I had been dealing with for several months. Once I was on antibiotics, I was fine. This is a matter that I should not have gone to Dr. Purvis for, but I was sent to her. Sadly, she sent a report saying my issues were depression related, and I should seek counselling. Sad!

Dr. Purvis was a godsend. After many visits with my GP where they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Dr. Purvis diagnosed me in one visit. She is very knowledgeable and very friendly and easy to talk to. I'm so glad to have her in my corner.

Dr. Purvis is fantastic! It was such a pleasure to finally meet a Doctor who is very knowledgeable in her field, she listens to my concerns, explains things very thoroughly. I am so thankful, I wish she was still coming to Campbellford, but I will gladly drive to Peterborough to be able to have her treat me. Thank you Jane
