Dr. Deal in his rush to get my colonoscopy done managed to perforate my colon causing me to remain in the hospital for 12 days. He is a dangerous man. A few minutes before my procedure he told the technician if she didn't get the needle in my vein in five minutes he was going home.

I have been going to Dr Deal for a couple of years, since my previous GI doc left Charlotte and my brother recommended Dr Deal; he is a no-nonsense doctor and when he tells you to get something done, he expects that you will do it. It is, after all, your health, he's just the doctor; but before he can figure out what the problem is, he needs to have all the information. So, if you want a doctor to baby you and tell you what you want to hear, Dr Deal is not the doctor for you. If on the other hand, you want someone who will work until you find what your problem is - but you do have to do what he tells you to do - go see Dr Deal. If he wasn't a great doctor, you wouldn't have to wait two months to get an appointment! But when you do get that appointment, you get right in and he sees you without a long wait like other doctor's offices. Dr Deal has a sense of humor and is very personable, but everyone has their days! Perhaps the folks that rated him low just saw him on one of those days! I highly recommend Dr Deal for anyone looking for a GI specialist.

Deal is the most arrogant, condescending doctor I've ever had to see. He's rude, insulting, and when I was explaining my situation, he stood up in the middle of my sentence and answered a phone call. Unacceptable. I definitely do not recommend. The office staff was actually somewhat courteous.

Great doctor! Staff is well informed & works with you for scheduling appointments or procedures. Friendly, courteous, & knowledgeable. Dr Deal takes time to answer questions & encourage you as you deal with digestive issues. He is the only gastrologist I have ever been to! He helped me to end my acid reflux & improve my health. Thank you, Dr Deal!

Condescending and uncaring. He essentially called me a liar after having the tests he ordered come back positive, so he wasted my money getting very expensive tests done and a procedure, then would not believe the results. By the end of my last visit he walked out of the office on his cell phone after making some rude statements. I wouldn't recommend him to an enemy.

I have been going to Doctors for years with severe acid reflux. Years ago another doctor took my gallbladder out but problem still there. Several visits to different doctors and noone could find the problem. Then I went to Dr. Deal. After several different test Dr.Deal found my problem. I found him to be honest & straight to the point. He was dedicated to me to find my problem & he did. I am grateful to him & I think his staff is great. I searched the website to find a doctor who had excellent credentials & I found Dr.Deal. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a Gastro problem resolved.

I have been having problems for a while with reflux but by the time of my appointment I no longer have symptoms. Dr. Deal is in fact quite condescending making me feel bad for not getting the labs he ordered. I can't afford to get labs especially when my symptoms are gone. When they returned, all he did was schedule me for a procedure, did not address what could be causing my symptoms or how to get rid of them. Afterwards all I got was a letter in the mail stating I was normal. I called the office to follow up on other concerns and never got a return call.

I saw Dr. Deal several years ago. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I never went back.
