No nonsense dcotor who listens and doesn't try to push drugs to solve the problem. If they are absolutely necessary then that's another story. Doesn't try to sway you towards his thinking if you have doubts. Just an absolute outstanding and caring doctor. His staff unfortunately is another story. Some are great but I have seen the ill treatment of patients by others right there in front of me. Even I was told when I called once and was put on hold forever that they couldn't help me because I wasn't a patient there based on the name on the call display. But my husband and I don't have the same last name. That was sooooooooo unprofessional and no apology was given when I called back to complain about this disgusting incident.

He did seem distracted the first time I met him(long time ago). I asked him to be our GP and his response was,"Do you know the clinic hours?" I wasn't sure how to take this and then when I made other appointments his staff put myself and daughters with a different doctor.I took this to mean that we were actually not his patients. When a women doctor started there I tried asking her. It's nice when you go to the doctors office and know which one you'll be seeing. She wasn't as great. Anyways,now we try to go during walk in hours when he's working because he is attentive and wise(doesn't rush through). My kids like him too.

I have been a patient of Dr Van Der Watt's since the Coventry Clinic opened. I have always found him very understanding and easy to talk to. I am extremely shy and Im sure Im not always the best patient but I am very comfortable discussing any issues with him. My brother and father are also patients of Dr Van Der Watt and my grandparents were patients when he had his practice in Hanna. We are grateful to him for catching my dads cancer very early on. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a caring, professional family physician.

Dr. Van Der Watt is without a doubt a first class Dr. He always has time to listen to your health issues and has your best health in mind. He respects your desire to use alternate methods for issues that he feels could be served in this manner. We have a wonderful Dr. Patient relationship. He scores high on our charts.

Dr. van der Watt has been my family doctor for four years in Calgary. My wife and two kids have all benefited from his care. He asks the right questions. He isn't quick to jump to medications that you don't need. And, he has great instincts. He correctly diagnosed a serious problem my wife had last year that two different emergency doctors missed. And, he helped my wife find the right specialist to fix her up.

I went for a prenatal refer, and I found him very rude. Told me I was not his patient, reason why I WAS NOT his problem. I personal think this is not the way to say no to a request.
