Dr. Amato has been following my Bipolar Manic beginning 2015. Together we have adjusted my medication regime as needed; counseled me thru a Divorce; supported me through Manic and Depression events; and advocated for me regarding other medical conditions. She repeatedly demonstrates seeing me as more than a psychiatric diagnosis but instead a whole person of which Bipolar is just one medical condition. Her staff are equally professional and caring making a winning combination.

Dr Amato was the ONLY therapist my daughter trusted. She worked miracles for us, she was kind and gentle with my daughter and even with my own worried mama bear emotions. And she always listened very carefully before thoughtfully considering and prescribing the best medications. She was an absolute godsend. As for those claiming misdiagnoses and error in prescribing, there truly is responsibility with the patient. Psychiatrists have to rely heavily on the feedback from their patients.

I was heavily over medicated by her as a child, causing excessive weight gain and psychotic features which were not present prior. She got me up to 250lbs at the age of 8, most likely due to abilify, and then continued to put me on pill after pill until I was nearly catatonic, eventually using ADHD medications as an attempt to counteract the negative interactions from everything else, instead of ever TAKING ME OFF any of the meds that weren't working. I can't remember the whole peroid of my life from when I was 8 to when I was 11, which seems to be when I stopped taking meds one day. I lost the weight, regained spacial awareness, and haven't been on medication since. I am now 25 years old.

Cuts patients who aren't immediate to take meds. Doesn't educate. Bad energy.

Simply the rudest and most unprofessional office staff I have encountered. Not who I would employ as a care giver.

Dr. Amato treats my husband for combat PTSD among other issues, and I don't know where we would be without her. After trying a half dozen Dr's, She is the only one that he trusts, I just love her. She has saved his sanity and mine.

She was awesome with my daughter. She was attentive and compassionate. She was the only mental health professional my daughter trusted. I don't know how we would have made it thru those two years together. As far as any misdiagnosis claims go, mental health diagnosing is far more difficult than physical diagnosing. There are no X-rays, ct scans, and precious few lab results to go by. The Dr mainly has the word of the patient to go. So if a misdiagnosis occurs, perhaps the pt can bear a little responsibility. I highly recommend Dr Amato.

Misdiagnosed me. Every appointment was a sob story about her, hardly spent time listening to me. When I did what she told me to do and it did not work at all after a lot of effort on my part, she argued with me and pressed the issue every visit no matter how many times I told her it did not work and I was done with it. I quit her practice. She is a money grubber and complained about how her office could be shut down any minute and that she has problems too, it's always about me.

This doctor did not correctly diagnose me. She said that I have Asperger's, ADHD, and clinical depression, and I got a 2nd opinion, and I have none of these disorders. I have OCD and social anxiety disorder. She also started me on 60 mg of Adderall for the ADHD, on the very first day! First of all, I don't even have the disorder, but to start me on such a high dosage was a shock to my system. She also had me on 80mg of Celexa. I had to take 4 prescription sleeping pills a night to sleep. I also developed a severe rash on my back. About 6 weeks after I started on the Adderall, I had ran out of the sleeping pills, because my doctor had not updated the prescription correctly. Because of that, the pharmacist was unwilling to fill the prescription. I went for 6 nights without sleep and my thoughts were going in circles. I started to hum and turn my head from left to right. It was a major meltdown for me. She told me that I was turning bipolar and that I was going into menopause. Worst dr.
