I came to Dr. Clayman in 2020 with PTC that had spread to 11 of 20 something lymph nodes. Dr Clayman and his staff were remarkable and I would never have changed a thing. However, and to no fault of Dr. Clayman, I don’t think my cancer was ever really cured even after RAI treatment, because my recent TgAB was 206. So, we find it and treat it as best we can. If I would end up needing an additional surgery, I would not hesitate for one minute to let Dr. Clayman and his team complete the task. They are an amazing team that I would recommend to anyone. With kindest Regards.

Dr. Clayman is a very experience doctor and a person of true excellence!
Back in December of 2019, after a biospy with several ones to follow,
I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As a woman of Faith, I was praying and ask God to guide me in everystep of this difficult journey. I can honestly say that He lead me to Dr. Clayman who happens to be the Best of the Best! His Center provided all the medical help I need it, from biopsies to few ultrasounds...His team are very kind, professional, knowleadgable, caring and supportive.
Also Dr. Roy was very informative to describe and advice me how to move foward with the best treatment. She cares and listen well to your concerns. I thank God with all my heart for answering our prayers through Dr. Clayman who was able to save half of my thyroid and removed only the left side were the cancer was sealed. My surgery was done on June 30 and the scar looks amazing! He is a true and excellent Doctor and Surgeon, he will do his very best to give you the right type of surgery you need for your thyroid condition. I can't express enough words how deeply and sincerely grateful I am to Dr, Clayman and to his wonderful team. Thank you for helping me to be cancer free!

Go elsewhere. Don't believe all these reviews. I wonder if he asked people to write them or he wrote them himself. Some of the staff are nice but Dr. Clayman is not honest and fools many people. He knows a lot but puts money before health. Expect to get a ridiculous bill. He sweet talks his patients to convince them he cares. He will cover up for doctors who screwed up instead of helping you. He likely removes the negative reviews. BEWARE!

At the time I came to Dr. Clayman I had been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. To arrive at this diagnosis had taken months. I was left with going here and there for testing. Being that I had never had a major surgery and my family physician had retired I was left to figure it out. After the online application was submitted, Dr. Clayman called that night. He told me to stop, that he would take care of whatever testing that I would need. In less than a week I was at Tampa General for surgery. The preparation was thorough, it gave me a sense of confidence that I was getting the best treatment available. The cancer had spread to include lymph nodes and other tissues. The surgery took close to four hours. I was given a 99 percent chance of recovery. If the doctor said this or that was going to happen, it did. I was counseled on what to expect. Dr. Clayman was available for questions or concerns before and after the surgery. I am very satisfied with the Doctor, the staff and the facility. Dr. Clayman has my admiration, the facility is proper in every respect. I highly recommend Dr. Clayman and the Tampa General Thyroid Center. Wherever you are, it’s worth the trip.

There is still good in this world!! Thank you Jesus for Dr. Gary Clayman and Dr. Rashmi Roy. These two expert thyroid surgeons are saving lives every day in the best managed hospital in our country, The Clayman Thyroid Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. If you need thyroid surgery, check out their website online. They want you to get the most experienced, best care possible. If you have already been directed to another surgeon, make sure you ask this person the questions suggested by Dr. Clayman. I think the most important question being, "How many thyroid surgeries do you perform every week?". My surgeon had three strikes against her after I asked her three questions, and when I stated I would like a second opinion, she walked out the door.

Once you fill out a new patient form online, one of the surgeons personally calls you within a few days. You don't have to wait for weeks to get on their surgery schedule. After I received my phone call from Dr. Clayman on November 7th, my surgery was scheduled for November 18th. I flew from Ohio to Tampa the day before my surgery, and the staff made the whole process easy for me, and I am 70 years old.

The whole sixth floor of Tampa General Hospital is the Clayman Thyroid Cancer Center, and thyroid surgery is What Dr. Clayman and Dr. Roy and their amazing staff do every day. Every patient you see on this floor is having thyroid surgery. They come from all over the world to get this expert care. The expert care we all deserve when we need this delicate surgery. These two surgeons are the most friendly, down to earth people you would ever want to meet. The minute you meet them, they make you feel comfortable and confident you are in the right place. They are genuinely concerned and care about you. All the staff, from Admissions to Discharge, treated me like a member of their own family. Each person introduced themselves, explained every test and procedure, and they continuously brought me warm blankets, which I appreciated very much. I even went to the operating room holding my denture cup with my dentures inside because I didn't want to go anywhere without my teeth. This was not my idea, but the nice people on Dr. Clayman's staff. They were doing everything possible to make me comfortable and happy. All this was done with the greatest respect for me.

I received several phone calls in the following days after I was discharged. Either Dr. Clayman or his nurse would be calling to check on me. This shows how extremely thorough and caring they are with their patients, and I appreciated this attention very much. I admire both surgeons and have the greatest respect for who they are and what they do everyday. Because of their healing hands, I am cancer free. I am swallowing better and breathing better. I have a much better life now because of their expert care. Everyday I am grateful and forever thankful for having met Dr. Gary Clayman and Dr. Rashmi Roy.

This is the most organized and best trained medical staff I have ever seen.

Dr, Clayman is nothing less than exceptional in the field of thyroid cancer surgery. I was operated by him last month for papillary cancer on one lobe of my thyroid. The surgery went flawlessly. I went back to my hotel several hours after the surgery and ate a full meal. I have never experienced any loss of voice, pain, discomfort or sore throat. I would not hesitate to recommend him to someone needing thyroid surgery. He's my hero!

When I learned my ultrasound results were abnormal, I was concerned because of my family history. Sadly, my amazing Mom died from an aggressive form of thyroid cancer. I needed answers. I found Dr. Clayman's website www.thyroidcancer.com, a powerful patient advocate resource. It helped me understand my thyroid nodule symptoms, my thyroid cancer risk factors and most importantly the gold standard in thyroid nodule evaluation. Dr. Clayman offers a unique online consultation process and after I completed the application late one night, Dr. Clayman called the next morning. From all indicators, I knew he was one of the best thyroid surgeons in the world, so I felt very fortunate to have him assess my situation. His calm and compassionate bedside manner was so comforting. A couple of weeks later, I flew to Tampa. My evaluation was completed in a few hours. Afterward, Dr. Clayman informed me that I needed a total thyroidectomy. Oddly, I was not worried or upset, I simply felt grateful. Grateful that I was in Dr. Clayman's capable hands and that of his efficient and caring team.
It's been three weeks since my surgery and I feel great. Looking back on my thyroid cancer surgery experience, I realized there are many steps required for a successful outcome. Patient education is important and for me it began with reading www.thyroidcancer. com. Dr. Clayman explains it beautifully!

I just returned from Tampa after having successful thyroid surgery. After reading most of Dr. Clayman's reviews from this and other websites you have to ask yourself if this guy is for real because it just sounds too good to be true. I can go on and write a lengthy review/comment but I will just cut to the chase. Everything you read about Dr. Clayman and his team is true. If you have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and you want the very best in care you will do yourself a great disservice by not having Dr. Clayman as your surgeon. It was refreshing to see a team of professionals that exhibited such a high level competence.

I had parathyroid surgery in November of 2017 at the Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa, FL; and there was an incidental pathology finding of medullary cancer in a lymph node that was removed. I received a call from my parathyroid surgeon, Dr. Parrack, regarding the finding. Dr. Clayman was recommended for follow up.
I remember sitting on the sofa still in shock and wondering what comes next an a thousand questions were spinning through my head. It was then about 10:30 pm and my cell phone rang. "Hello Judy, this is Dr. Clayman, how are you doing?" ( It seemed as if he somehow knew I needed to talk to him although I had never met him). Dr. Clayman explained what type of surgery would need to be done in follow you and when - the importance of waiting several months for the first surgery to heal.
A day later, I texted Dr. Clayman and asked if there was anything else to do, and that I was still in shock over the diagnosis. He promptly texted me back and said you do not need anything but time.....please relax and take a deep breath. I responded I would do my best. Then came a text that said..."here is a hug...the best medicine."
From that point forward, and for six months, I put all my professional trust in this surgeon. He ordered several CT and bone scans in Feb. of 2018, which were negative; and my thyroidectomy and lymph node dissection surgery was scheduled for May 8, 2018.
I am a retired registered nurse with an extensive background in healthcare risk & quality management. I recognize and appreciate a healthcare professional that not only has great surgical skills but the best bedside manner I have ever witnessed or experienced.
And he surrounds himself with an amazing surgical team at the Clayman Thyroid Surgery Center in Tampa that project elements of confidence, trust, and safety, which are so important to a patient.
Having said all of the above, I am not at all surprised at the excellent surgical outcome. I had no post-op pain, no problem talking or swallowing, and eating a regular diet the evening post surgery.
And about a week later, I received a very special and caring phone call from Dr. Clayman to inform me of the good news related to my pathology report.
It was quite the journey I took from the time I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, the surgery to remove two parathyroid adenomas, and then the surgery for medullary thyroid cancer; thank God I had Dr. Clayman with me on this journey.
