The cataract surgery performed on my right eye at the Holy Cross center which was to be completed by Dr. Bill Chow was not successful. It was Dr. Chow's "assistant", I believe, who did the surgery under the supervision of Dr. Chow. I was then sent to Dr. G. Williams to repair the damage that resulted. I can not say enough good about Dr. Williams. He was skilled, I now have a lens in my eye, and some sight. He was patient. He was very caring and compassionate. I would highly recommend Dr. Williams but I think he is very busy dealing other surgeons mistakes.

Performed cataract surgery on my father and attempted to reposition his lens, damaging my father's iris, leading to eventual blindness. Was not upfront about what happened, blaming vision loss on my father's retina. It took a visit to an optometrist in another province, and subsequent visits to other opthalmologists in Calgary to deduce what happened. By then, it was too late to sue. Dr Williams also performed retina surgery on me, and placed a ring on my retina incorrectly. The recovery was painful and difficult with a lot of bleeding. His surgery had to be corrected by Dr Savage, and the recovery with Dr Savage's work was much less painful, quicker, and no bleeding in comparison. Night and day difference. Move forward with surgery with Dr Williams at your own risk!

I think Dr Williams should stick to surgeries and not speak to patients he is socially awkward! His assistant Tiffany is rude and condescending. I contacted the clinic for assistance and they only made matters worse. Asked to speak to a manager who booked an appointment to rectify the situation and Dr Williams had no clue what the appointment was about. He said he would rectify the situation and nothing was done.

Dr. Williams is not only an awesome surgeon, he is also very kind and sympathetic to what you are going through. He fixed my retina 3 times and he also fixed bleeding in my eye.

My husband has now lost sight and has a damaged retina thanks to Dr Williams... two surgeries, one to rectify the first... and many painstaking tests for a handicap man later... no explanation whatsoever

First time I saw him with one eye. Two weeks after the surgery in my second follow up I saw him with my both eyes. Top notch performance.

I had diabetic retinopathy Dr RG Williams preformed a vitrectomy He said we would wait for the retina to become stable before fixing the cataract. My high bG levels resulted in a retinal tear a week prior to my 2 month visit. Dr Williams was at a conference (further educating his vast knowledge) so I went to the hospital. Another Doctor did my surgery. I think he messed up. He did the vitrectomy, pulled the cataract and my lens even said "uh oh I think I dropped a piece of the cataract but I don't think it went in the eye" during my surgery. No one from the clinic Dr Williams works for/at. Do surgeons call their patients? No they have assistants for that... long story.... I happily went back to Dr Williams who fixed what went wrong (got glaucoma because of no lens). Five surgeries later I'm holding my breath to see what happens. Staff are great as well Kat and Mai and all of them go above and beyond. Also gave a 4 for punctuality as I don't think he ever sleeps and can have emergency calls.... least wait time I've had, 1 hour, most 4 hours. But he's well worth the wait. Have a list of questions ready and he or his staff take the time to answer them all. My mom's friend had gone to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion (was in denial about losing sight). If it wasn't unprofessional, they'd have laughed her out of the office when she told them who her surgeon was here and she was coming to them for a second opinion. They said you can not be in better hands.
