I had moles removed with Dr. Weksberg awhile ago that gave me bad scars. This never happened to me with other doctors and now my back looks like cr*p because of his hack job. Staff are pushy and the whole place felt like it was all about getting as much of my money as they could and not much else.

I normally don’t write reviews about anything but I have no idea where all these bad reviews came from. I had a really great experience, I was recommended by a friend and really happy to find a very experienced injector who also happens to be a dermatologist. I went in the office for Botox treatment of TMJ which is worse on one side. He landmarked everything and walked me through the procedure. He even gave me the option to go on the lighter side of units for this treatment since it was my first time.
HE IS NOT MONEY HUNGRY LIKE SO MANY OTHER INJECTORS. He did not even ask me if I wanted to treat other areas he just proceeded with exactly what I came in for. Also another amazing thing that happened was the consultant Ciara that walked me through everything caught my contact dermatitis on my palm, which I had never brought up to her. She saw me briefly scratch my head and noticed it right away. She put in a word to Dr. Weksberg and he wrote me a prescription! He’s very knowledgeable, another derm that I saw in the past told me there’s nothing to do about my dermatitis and sent me off. I would really recommend for both cosmetic and dermatology concerns, he addressed both of mine during my appointment. A very friendly and comfortable environment!!

He is a wasteman. Tries to over-sell his product over giving his clients what they actually need to see improvement in their skin. All these 5-star ratings are from his staff. Pathetic.

I came into Dr. Weksberg's office hoping to get another dermatologists perspective on a solution for my acne. Needless to say, he makes me miss my old dermatologist. He offered me 2 very expensive treatments, convincing me they would make a big improvement on my skin, along with the medicated creams. For over 400 dollars worth of treatment out of pocket, they had better do something noticeably good but this wasn't the case. Both didn't do anything spectacular for me and when I told him, he replied with such arrogance that "You can't tell me it did nothing because you don't know that". Who knows your own face better than yourself? He then asked me if I wanted to put more money in his pockets and repurchase the treatments. I wish I would have discovered "The Ordinary" before spending any of that money on the expensive products. On the low, I started using their serums during his treatment and even stopped using some of his products, and he said my skin had improved at a follow up. Save your money folks!

He is only interested in his private cosmetic practice.
I took my 84 year old mother to assess a number of concerning spots on her skin. When you walk in to the examining room there’s a sign saying the doctor will only look at one spot per visit. Since we had a few concerns and had waited approximately 6 weeks to see the doctor I sat my mother on the table and pulled her pant legs up and her sleeves. My mother has some anxiety about cancerous growths so we tried our best to make our concerns known.
We waited at least 40 minutes in the exam room and when he came in he said we could make an appointment for a full body check and he would look at the one concern that our gp had seen that was the reason for the referral. He looked at that spot and said he was actually more concerned about another spot that could be potentially cancerous. We could make an appointment for two weeks hence to do a punch biopsy. Then come back for stitch removal and get next biopsy. Then come back for results and stitch removal. The last appointment would be a full body check. When I asked if we could do 2 biopsies in one visit it was clear that he makes his money per visit and wanted to maximize his fee. I understand him wanting to capitalize but when I mentioned the difficulty in getting to the office 4 times no one really cared. We were offered dissolvable stitches for first biopsy but not the second.
When we went for 2nd appointment he discovered that the 2nd biopsy site could be psoriasis. When I suggested that we use the cortisone treatment before cutting because my mothers skin on her legs is quite thin he looked irritated and walked out.
I will pass on the full body check as I’m quite sure he will find many more suspicious spots that require biopsy over years of well placed appointments.

Unprofessional - I made an appointment to discuss PRP Therapy (aka - vampire facelift). First, there was no mention of the $100 consultation fee, which they said was to cover the doctor's time since he had to do a skin analysis to see if I was a suitable candidate. I paid because I was sure I wanted it and it would later be credited to my procedure. After a discussion with a less than eloquent consultant (Jan), I was told the doctor would be in shortly. 20 minutes later, Jan returned to tell me I was not a candidate. No doctor visit. No skin analysis. Instead, Jan tried to sell me injections, fillers and light treatments. I said I wasn't interested; I was only there for PRP Therapy. I found it odd that no one actually did an assessment and they did refund the $100, which was fair. However, I have since learned (less than a week later) that PRP Therapy is temporarily banned in Canada while Health Canada investigates and sets up criteria for eligible practitioners. So, the clinic KNEW they could not offer me the treatment I had requested when I made the appointment, yet they took my appointment and my money anyway in the hopes of selling me other treatments. This is completely unprofessional, disrespectful and devious. I would not return to this clinic to have any kind of procedure done. I do not trust them to do what is best for me.

Dr. Fred Weksberg's response

Thanks for your comments and perhaps we can clarify your misunderstanding . Prp is approved in canada and is an excellent solution for many medical issues. We perform prp for patients every day. It would not however meet your needs and that is why we refunded your consultation fee. The proper correction for your concern was fillers and that is why we explained that to you. Both prp and filler are the same price so this was not an upsell but the correct solution for your needs. We are sorry if you were disappointed however we will not do treatments that you would not get benefit from and or meet your expectations. Hope this has clarified why we did not do prp for you.

Dr Weksberg is a very thorough and diligent dermatologist. He takes his time to answer all of my questions, never rushing me. I came in to check a blemish on my back and he also noticed another tiny unusual mark which he wanted to biopsy.....it turned out to be serious and I had surgery immediately to have it removed.. He has an excellent eye and is very learned and professional!!!!
I am grateful that he is my doctor!!!

The wait times at this office are appalling - appointments are booked with little to no regard for people’s time.
