Dr. Garay is intelligent, however he runs his practice like an ER. You're lucky to get 5 minutes with him. It's VERY "in and out" and he will get up and walk out once he feels the conversation is done. Booked for 15 mins? Doesn't matter, you get 2-5 mins. More than one issue even if they're both simple? Nope, book another appointment. Personally looking for someone new.

One of the best doctors I've ever had. Everytime I go see him he always makes sure I'm okay and takes my concerns seriously.

I have been a patient of Dr. Garay's for several years now, I was able to come into the clinic as the spouse of an existing patient.

Since the first appointment I've always found him to be impatient, arrogant and lacking in bedside manner - but it's been getting worse and worse lately.

The office is always very busy. The office staff always seem hurried/rushed during booking, check-in, follow up calls, etc. Most times we're kept waiting 30 minutes or so past our appointment time in the lobby, and then another 10-15 minutes of waiting in an office.

I had some pretty major life circumstances the past few years - and things were bad enough two years ago my mental health therapist recommended I take some time off work to recover. When I called Dr. Garay for an appointment to discuss, he called me and said that my mental health issues weren't worthy of being off of work and it would be best for me to keep working thru my issues ---- even when I explained to him that this was a recommendation from my therapist.

When I told my therapist about his comments, she asked for his information and was planning to report him for neglect of care given his comments to me during this appointment. Thankfully she's fully licensed and was able to provide a Dr's note to write me off of work for a few weeks to recover.

My daughter also sees him, and she insists I still go in with her as the blunt nature in which he rapid fires questions at her makes her nervous and she freezes up, she has anxiety and he knows her conditions as he's the one who provided her prescriptions based on her referral notes from her therapist. He actually snapped at my to let HER tell him during her last appointment, to which I advised him that she's asked me to be there to help (she's 15) because she get's nervous because of his demeanor and approach, but nothing changed.

I saw him recently (surprisingly was seen within minutes of arriving and checking in at the front desk this time!) and he had me in and out so fast I only got to address one of the two issues I needed to see him for.

For the one issue I did address, after he looked at me he did find an issue straight away and as he sat down to type in the 'script he quipped "yes, there's definitely an infection causing some issues there, you weren't lying this time".

I'm sorry? Pardon? I'm not lying "this time"?

I avoid going into the Dr. for myself as much as possible (hospitals and Dr's make me nervous), so it's not like I'm a patient that goes in for no reason, and in fact the office has to remind me about regular physicals/paps because I don't even book those for myself consistently.

So why exactly is he making such a wildly inappropriate comment to a patient? It's mind boggling.

I know there's a backlog for getting into a clinic with a Family Dr. however if you have any option find yourself a physician with some empathy and caring for patients. Someone who will see you as a person, who will treat you holistically for all of your health concerns, and won't speak down to you with arrogance while rushing you out the door/wanting to write you a 'script and send you on your way without going over all of your needs during the appointment.

Just like all the others say in there reviews he’s gives you an arrogant attitude when trying to present the facts of your issues! He doesn’t listen to what you tell him and just ignores the facts. He’s up and out of he’s chair gone in less than 5 minutes! Do your self a favour and find a doctor that has a little compassion for their patients. I wii could find another doctor but they are all on a waiting list of 3-6 months and then if you are a complicated patient they won’t take you on.

Booked a phone consultation with him ( for follow up) over a month ago and till this day I have still not received a call from him. He also prescribed my mom wrong medications ( she only realized this once she started to feel weak and went to another doctor for second opinion).

Dr. Garay has experience, but unfortunately that, coupled with the number of patients he has tried to hold onto, as well as his own ambition and priority in making money, has made him only provide the most minimal care. I was his patient for 10 years and as time went on, meetings with him became limited to 5-10 minutes. I have had a number of concurrent medical issues, but Garay does not bother to treat me holistically, but prefers to only treat issues at hand, prescribing medications and temporary treatment, rather than looking at longterm goals and overall health. I've had issues going on for a long time that Garay would simply just prescribe more medication to without thought of treating its root issues. He is also a doctor in Emergency at the hospital and he treats his patients in the office very much in the same style as you would expect in the triage of Emergency in hospital. It is difficult to get appointments with Garay and while phone appointments are scheduled and promised, Garay tends not to keep those. I've been left waiting two weeks for a phone call appointment that was scheduled and needed to actually follow-up with the office to inquire as to why I was never phoned for the appointment that was given to me. I also sense that with Garay, his priority is to make money and will encourage opportunities for you as the patient to come in to see him, even unnecessarily.

The front desk and reception staff are terrible---very poor customer service quality---as if most of them are just miserable there and hate their positions. There are a few that are competent and professional, but it's really the luck of the draw of who you will get and have to deal with. The success of you getting the appointment you need and the experience you have over the phone will largely have to do with which receptionist you actually get when you call.

Otherwise, the office is clean, BUT BUSY. The only great thing about the office is that there is always an on-call doctor for emergency same-day issues, if you're lucky enough to be able to get an appointment since those slots fill extremely quickly. If you can't secure a same-day appointment for the on-call doctor, then you're stuck going to Urgent Care or the hospital or a walk-in clinic --- though the doctors in this office prefer you not go to another walk-in clinic and stipulate that in their forms.

If you have a lot of health issues and they have been longterm, I would avoid Dr. Garay. Besides that, he already has so many patients---too many to give you the time needed for true, longterm, quality care.

staff at this office are rude on phones and often times just leave you on hold. dr garay never spends more than 3 minutes of his time with you, because that would just be too much work for him! multiple health issues going unaddressed and unnoticed, leading to the progression of diabetes to be worse in patients. if he doesn’t think your concern is valid, it won’t be looked into. if you’re throwing up all the time and can’t keep food down? well then that’s your fault and apparently not his to look into.
don’t bother with this office and doctor. go another place where you’re valued and your health issues won’t go unaddressed.

You do not receive proper quality time to address your concerns. He is very arrogant, he does not listen to you. He does not even have the basic knowledge and when you give him more information on your issue he doesn't to like it and tries to discuss with you in a terrible manner. Never trust his knowledge, I never recommend him to anyone
