I do like Dr Garay but feel he has taken far too many patients so you do not receive proper quality time for an examination or time to address your concerns. I don't think he has ever actually examined me, only from a distance which I find unusual. I just waited 3 weeks for a phone call that didn't happen, went to see him today and he canceled. I wish he would unload some patients to other doctors in the office without a penalty. I would definitely volunteer

He's been my son's doctor for a few years and the service has just been steadily declining. I've booked two phone appointments - one he called me two WEEKS later! The fact they say the doctor will call you within 72 hours of your slot is ridiculous anyway, why is every other doctor I've seen capable of calling within an hour of my scheduled time? The appointments are always rushed. He always just says he'll "leave a note for himself" to go over whatever your concern is later by himself if he feels it's "too long" aka more than 10 seconds vs actually addressing it in the appointment with you (aka collaborative care) and this leads to half the issues being missed. The office is a cluster and it's hard to get ahold of anyone there & the receptionists never seen to be the friendliest to deal with. Covid hasn't made it easy to find a new doctor but the second I can find one, I'm over dealing with this clinic & doctor who treats patients like cattle.

I honestly don't understand what the gripe about Dr. Garay is all about. To me, he has always been professional, empathetic, and I don't feel rushed at all. He is quick but thorough. I like that. I feel fortunate that he took me on as a patient. My kids love him too

I have been seeing Dr. Garay since 2007. Nice enough guy and i'm sure he's good golfer, but sparing me more than 5 minutes of his precious time is out of the question. In and out without even discussing my issues. You would think that a Doctor would look at the last appointment details or check my current blood work results prior to your appointment. Instead goes over my account when i'm there, further cutting into my 5 minute time allowance. The last time that i was graced with more than 5 minutes was ONCE since 2007 when i had a physical exam. Not to mention my 30 - 60 minute wait to see him. Very cocky man. Queen Square Doctor's is a place of business, not healing. Run like heck!

Beyond egotistical, my son was having issues for MONTHS - I saw him 6 times and kept asking him to refer me to a specialist. He said he didn't "need one" because he "could fix it." Well he didn't, he just kept throwing various meds at us that didn't work. Long story short - he ended up needing a specialist at SICKKIDS because this loser thinks he's above everyone.

This is not a doctor I would recommend as a Family Doctor. No compassion or empathy. Very humiliating. How he qualifies as Site Chief of Emergency Medicine at Brampton Civic Hospital only God knows! His handling of his patients at Queen square Family doctors Clinic is so terrible to say the least. He walks in "Pal, what's wrong?" he's already standing at the door, before you even explain what took you there (he interrupts) & walks you out of the door similar way a Police would escort a criminal out of a room. He's got no interest with your symptoms & whatever you got to say at all. To him that is rubbish. I can't recall any single visit when Dr. Garay has done any physical/vital signs exams on me. Some of his phrases when you try to seek his audience are "You don't get to decide, we do" "There's nothing we can do for you."

hes a great dr - he gets the job done!! When I need a referral, I get it. When I need meds changed, he takes care of it. I go to him because I trust him to offer his expert opinion. I'm not a Dr - all you haters need to remember why you made the appointment - you want his help. If you need hand holding, go elsewhere. If you think you know better, than go to med school!!

Dr. Garay works on a 5 minute egg timer. Always running late and it shows from all of the disgruntled patients waiting to see him. To many bookings maybe?

My wife and I have been his patients for many years. We seriously considered changing doctors in mid-2019, due to his rushed, impersonal, disinterested approach, but we detected improvement and decided to remain with him for the time being. Some members of the reception staff need an attitude change --- condescending and sometimes almost abusive. Also, forget trying to book online, as staff will override your appointment request most of the time.
