I had been going to Dr Rakochey and 12 Ave dental for about 5 years. I am no longer going there, after a getting a filling done, which I didn't feel I needed, but went ahead, as I trusted their suggestion was in my best interest. I have suffered constant pain in that area since the filling (about 2 years ago) and have been given no solution from Dr. Rakochey on what to do to resolve, apart from suggesting I use a fluoride mouthwash. I did go back to the Dental Practice, a couple of times after the filling, but felt that I was usually being sold something by the Hygienists e.g. electric toothbrush or teeth whitening or another filling....no thank you. While I don't disagree with many of the positive comments from others, my experience has left me feeling that this practice puts the business before the customer. One exception to my ill feeling towards this Practice, is the Hygienist, Marsha. Marsha is brilliant at what she does and has a great attitude towards the customer, can only say positive things about her. I would've have truly been happy to go back because of her, but don't think I could get over the horrible experience I had with the filling (which was suggested by a different Hygienist, not by Marsha).

Dr Rakochey has been my dentist for over 10 years. He is the best dentist I've been to. He really cares about his patients, it shows. Every time he walks into the room it's like seeing an old friend, he makes you feel so welcome. During any dental procedure he tells me exactly what he is about to do and I have rarely feel pain. He also gives good advice after. I have referred many jaded friends because I am confident they will have similar experiences, and they praise him like I do. His Dental Assistant and Hygienist are just as wonderful, including the receptionists. And the most astonishing thing is that he is not out for your money, he has given me financial breaks on visits and a root canal when I did not have a job and dental benefits. I don't think any other dentist would do this.

Dr Rakochey is an amazing dentist. His entire staff is wonderful - from the knowledgeable front desk staff to his assistant and the hygienists. They all treated me great. Highly recommended.

Dr. Rakochey is outstanding. However, never try to cancel an appointment. The receptionist gives you the third degree and makes you feel like garbage.

Dr Rakochey is an amazing, exceptional, dentist! He is so gentle and extremely kind, with fantastic explanation before, during, and after dental work. I am a new patient but already trust him fully as he doesn’t pressure you with unnecessary work. I was very impressed with Dr R, as well as, all his staff! I highly recommend him!!

Dr. Rakochey is one of the very best dentists I have seen in my long life! His work is excellent, his pricing is likely the best in Calgary, his staff are superb, and the atmosphere in the office is both professional and personable. I couldn't recommend a dentist more highly than Dr. Daryl!

Quickly – I’ll set the scene, I was being seen for
A routine clean over winter break in my senior
Year of college, I’d been polished, scraped, and flossed by the dental tech. Next, I’d get checked by the boss.

My blue smock rockin' tooth doc walked in.
He sat, we chatted, chewed the fat.
He asked about my studies, he inquired about my family.
Slipped on his mask, and tipped me back to examine me.
He took a look and said, “Your oral health is hunky dory. Do you have any concerns or questions for me?”
I said “The only tooth related item coming to mind that I could mention is that my girlfriend says when I’m asleep she hears me grind and clench them.”
His eyebrows shot up into outer space.
I said “Doctor, by the look on your face, I assume it’s worst case?”
He said “It’s pretty bad, if it’s audible at night from way over at her place.”
