Dr. Hobart removed my prostate and the left set of nerves governing sexual function about 20 years ago. Hid approach was factual, his recommendations right on and I have been cancer free ever since.
Dr. Hobart and his staff have always been thoughtful, kind and caring when dealing with me. In my opinion, he is one of the best at what he does. I have recommended him to others and will continue to do so. His assistant reflects Dr. Hobart's approach, always patient and caring.

I give them both credit for giving me the last 20 fulfilling years of life - and still counting!

There was a terrifying moment with Dr. Michael Hobart. I was a young guy, self esteem issues at the time. I was referred to Hobart for an assessment of a slight and I mean slight penile curve. It didn’t and doesn’t hurt, doesn’t cause any issues and after seeing another - more competent urologist I was deemed negative of the condition known as peronies. I was relieved. Even more so when the competent urologist explained that I was in a very normal and common zone.
The scary part. When I saw Hobart for less than 5 minutes, he suggested a surgery where “I have the room” (I was too horrified to take that as a compliment), he suggested that he could cut the penis off at the slight curve and reattach it. As he walked out of the room to bring in his surgical partner - I left. I left so fast. What quack. Needless to say I did not go through with a horrific and absolutely unnecessary procedure. I am not a genuine pig for unethical experiments.
This was all very personal stuff up front. But please, see someone else. Hobart seems to have some very trumped up positive reviews. Maybe he is great at counting sperm. Hey, maybe he is a great doctor but there other poor reviews on here. Be very cautious is all I am saying. He seems opportunistic and willing to ruin a young guys life on the spot like that. Literally, scared straight.

Excellent doctor. He gave a clear, concise description of my kidney cancer and the minimally invasive, robotic surgery he proposed. He answered all my questions and let me know I could contact him again if I had any further questions. The operation he gave me was a success and my tumor was removed. After a MRI to confirm all the cancer was gone, Dr. Hobart called me at home to let me know that the operation was curative and that I would be followed up with a yearly MRI. And all this was during a pandemic.

Dr. Hobart is a great doctor and this city is lucky to have him. He does not sugarcoat anything , making it quite clear the options that you have . Unfortunately I became the 1 in 5000 and was rushed to the RAH 3 days after my prostate surgery. Dr. Hobart and his staff kept in close contact with the U of A until I was awake. He and his partners visited me in ICU more than once to check on my condition and to let me know that they knew what happened. As I healed and went back to his office for follow up appointments he and Patsy treated me like gold, which I was not expecting.
Sometimes you had to wait for an appoint up to an hour, but I knew that he and his staff were treating each patient with the same respect that I was getting. I would recommend him to anyone that wants to hear the 'truth' and have options explained to them with the smoke. I've also had a number of kidney stones dealt with by Dr. Hobart and the staff at the urology clinic and I truly enjoyed going there as they were such great people. I've completely my visits with Dr. Hobart and I kind of miss the people there.

Not informed where to stand and line up. Dr Hobart receptionist is on the phone for a very long time evbery time I go in and get tired and sit down waiting for her to get off the phone. someone else comes stand where I was standing and attends to that person....every time I'm there, Dr. Hobart on the other hand was super awesome its getting g to him that's the problem

I don't understand where the negative comments are coming from. They tend to sound like one or two people with a grudge leaving multiple bad comments. I would recommend Dr Hobart in a heartbeat. I was diagnosed with some aggressive component to my prostate cancer. The hardest part were the months of wait time for a Da Vinci Prostatectomy. Dr Hobart was caring, informative, and did a very skillful job, as my six month post surgery checkup today proved. I would without hesitation send friends or family members his direction if they should required the same treatment and surgery. His receptionist has always been great. The staff around him were highly supportive.
