I had surgery and a TRUE Allergy to Latex.I told him I get hives,If I blow up a latex balloon my mouth gets tingly and I break out with a rash where ever the latex touches.I agree I don't stop breathing or go into cardiac arrest but I DO have a moderate allergy.After telling him this he said "So your skin gets dry?" As if he didn't hear ANYTHING I just said.I reiterated that NO I really get a bad rash even from bandaids.He then proceeded to wheel me out into the OR.The Nurse was in the room and heard everything.As he was wheeling me into the hall the nurse Asked him in a confused way"So she really does have a Latex Allergy?"He abruptly replied(and I quote)"No, She's Just Stupid"Right in front of me!The nurse looked just as stunned as I was and she didn't know what to do either. I felt so alone.I have had other surgery s in the past and this one was also the worst with the recovery from anesthesia.Who knows what he did to me while I was asleep if he treated me this way while I was awake
