Great Doctor, Front desk staff not as friendly and service minded as Dr. Rice and his nurses. However, Dr. Rice makes it worth the endurance of their rudeness. He is great, dedicated and the children love him

My kids love Dr. Rice! He has a great manner with them, and he definitely takes the time to listen and ask about our whole family. I feel like he remembers us and gets to know us as a whole. He is conservative with medications, sick-visits, etc, which overall I think is great. He has a nurse which I can talk to if my children are sick, and she has been knowledgeable and helpful. There have been one or two instances when I would have felt better having my child looked at, but they wouldn't bring him in for a sick visit, saying it was probably viral and would go away on its own. But overall, when you are in the office, you feel cared about. I don't like that he will bill you for a sick and a well visit at the same time if he finds anything wrong during a routine well visit - once, he caught an ear infection during a yearly visit, and we were billed for both (my isurance doesn't cover sick visits). Overall, though, I trust him completely, and that says a lot.

Scott Rice is wonderful. I was weary when he took over this practice because the pediatrician before him was very consultative. Well Dr. Rice is even better! From finding and digging an ant! out of my son's ear, to giving me, a single mom, book recommendations for helping my now pre-teen son through puberty, he has been wonderful. He always asks about how I'm doing too - knowing that a happy healthy parent helps make for a happy healthy child. I had considered switching my son to my family doctor now that he's a pre-teen, but that thought lasted only a second...I won't give up Dr. Rice until my son is an adult! The one downfall is the wait. It's probably because the amount of time Dr Rice gives to his patients which I appreciate; but he should probably schedule that better. I also know he truly cares about his patients. I saw him pretty upset one visit because he has a patient with a potentially life threatening problem...he really has empathy with the family.
