VERY great doctor - knowledgeable, compassionate, caring, great listener. His fellow, Hai- equally as good. Office staff....not so much...

Dr. Malay is amazing, but his office staff sucks. The phone doesn't get answered, calls don't get returned, and it is impossible to reschedule an appointment. Please, Doc! You're the best! Hire some reliable support staff.

Dr. Malay is incredible! I had horrible, debilitating foot pain that no one could figure out. I had a bunch of imaging and it was still unclear. I saw Dr. Malay and he figured it out and knew exactly what to do. I needed surgery, but he treated me so well. I wish all of my doctors were modeled after him. I won't trust anyone else with my foot and ankle concerns. His office staff takes some getting used to. They are not great to say the least, but to be treated by him makes it worth it to endure. In summary, he's knowledgeable, trustworthy, efficient, helpful, caring, and courteous.

Dr. Malay is not only skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of his field, but is kind caring and empathetic. I am a medical professional and have agreed with every aspect of his care. His residents also took great care with me in the ER. I would recommend him highly.

Horrible. He does not do his surgeries, only residents do your surgery which he may not even be present for. As a result of bunion surgery, I have a foot that is still healing (and will never heal) 3 years later. My foot is far worse than it was before he got his hands on it. The problem is they don't tell you this ahead of surgery. Unethical with horrendous life changing results.

Dr. Malay's staff at Spruce street is amazingly unresponsive and monosylabic. On my first appt., I and other patients with foot problems, were left waiting for 15 minutes on the cold hard tile outside his office before the receptionist even got there late. Re helpfulness: On the first visit, while waiting in the hall, we discovered that 3 of us had the exact same apt. time. I was given a "Fellow" to examine my foot. He listened poorly. He and Dr. Malay took the orthotic out of my shoe, took off all the padding I had carefully crafted to make my foot bearable to stand on, and re-padded it in a horribly pain causing manner. Talk about adding insult to injury. When I spoke to the office manager on Market st. about my dissatisfaction, she was apologetic. Now, before my 3rd appointment, Dr. Malays office cancelled my appt. (he was allegedly in surgery), never called to reschedule and have not returned my phone calls. I honestly thought I could count on a Penn Md being better than this. Oh, and yes, the pain is nonstop. After 2 office visits-no treatment plan, diagnosis, nothing but wasted time and money...so discouraged.

Dr. Malay is a Dr. I was lucky to be referred to for a chariot foot he said looking my foot was a possibility and he worked on me for about a year or so. I did eventually loose my foot but not after trying long after others would have given up. He said I would do better with a prosthetic ,and after some hard work and his support I am walking again. Dr. Malay is a hero in my book
