My daughter had to have lower jaw surgery in January 2007 on the day the worst blizzard hit Saskatoon. He was mad that I stayed at the hospital overnight (like sleeping on a couch with no blankets or pillow was a luxury), then he released my daughter and when I mentioned that we would be unable to travel home yet due to the road condition, said " this hospital is not a hotel". Horrible bedside manner and very rude. Then in September 2008, my daughter developed a complication and although she attends university in Edmonton, the office staff said Dr. Hohn insisted she come back to Saskatoon instead of referring her to someone in Edmonton. Then Dr. Hohn barely looked at her and said he didn't know why she bothered to come back to Saskatoon and didn't treat her at all.

I had major surgery done on my upper jaw. Dr. Hohn was more than excellent. He and his staff took the time to explain the procedures, the risks involved etc. He is one of the best Oral surgeon I ever had. Considering the amount of work my jaws required, I could not have ask for a better Doctor. I would not hesitate to go back. And the best part? It as completely painless

He isn't very nice. I've had to see him and Dr. Lanigan multiple times because of two separate wisdom teeth removals and a lower jaw surgery. In May '08 I had my upper wisdom teeth removed and he was horrid. I am absolutely terrified of needles and the thought of being awake for the surgery so I was put under and halfway through the surgery I woke up. It hurt so much and I could feel him drilling in my mouth and I said "Ow it hurts and started crying" and he told me to "Suck it up". REALLY?! I have no idea why I even went back to him to get the wisdom teeth removed because he was mean after my jaw surgery as well.

Dr. Hohn is an excellent oral surgeon. He is the only doctor I have ever had who has called me on the evening after my surgery to ask how I was recovering. He cracks a lot of jokes during the surgery to keep you relaxed. I would recommend him to anyone, he goes above and beyond for all of his patients.

I have been to DR. Hohn twice, once for getting 2 implants removed that were failing. A year later I went back to him to get 3 implants put in to attach my lower denture to. I found him to be a very kind and gentle doctor. I was under sedation and never felt a thing, which is good as I have always been afraid of dentists. He even phoned me at home later to see if I was okay. I would recommend Dr. Hohn to anyone who has to have dental surger.

I went to Dr. Hohn to have four wisdom teeth surgically removed in the midst of orthodontic treatment as an adult. I'm sure that he has done a lot of good work. However, this doctor has a terrible bedside manner and was impatient, doing nothing to comfort me or put me at ease. He also told me during the extractions that I should have jaw surgery. My orthodontist, who was experienced and well-regarded, disagreed strongly. Additionally, a portion of the area in my lower jaw region was partially-numb for several months. I know that this is a common risk and that it is a tricky area to work in. Admittedly, I sort of screamed when he disturbed the nerve, but he didn't offer any sympathy and told me to stop!!!! Also, one of the assistants was very annoying and seemed incompetent. I guess there are not many oral surgery practices in Saskatoon, so you just have to go with it.

I am a dentist and went to Dr. Hohn for an extraction because I trust him, and have a great deal of respect for him and all of the staff at the office. I refer many patients to this office and especially after my experience there will have the confidence to continue to do so. He is the best, and anyone who sees him should feel lucky to be under the care of such an excellent surgeon and support staff.

WOW!! I was terrified to have 3 wisdom teeth out. I had developed a phobia of dentists (from previous experiences) and had fainted (repeatedly!) with my first wisdom tooth extraction. I switched to Dr. Hohn and he was fantastic. He was extremely patient with my phobia. He walked me through what the surgery would entail, assuring me that it was quite a simple procedure (based on my xrays). I had a speedy recovery and I am completely satisfied. Excellent bed-side manner. HIGHLY recommended.

Dr. Hohn is also very paitent, and is good with paitents' family members . If I ever have to have another Oral Sugery, Dr. Hohn is the oral surgeon, I would want to have !!!

I worked for Dr. Hohn a few years ago and can honestly say he is the best Oral Surgeon. Living out of province now, I still refer patients to him as well as my friends and family. I would not trust anyone else! As mentioned in previous posts you can expect a wait time, as you would in any specialty office that is busy but it is worth it to have proper care.
