2% chance of reproducing naturally. After persisting thru 7 years of sporadic IVF (2 full cycles and several frozen cycles), with the guidance, wisdom and support of Dr Wakim and his staff, we were able to welcome two beautiful, healthy baby girls (7yrs apart). He will always hold a special place in our family and I recommend him to anyone that may share similar struggles.

I would never recommend this man, i dont understand how he can be listed as number 1! I go to AHN Reproductive Medicine and have been here 2 years due to needless tests and failed treatments (though only dealt with Wakim in 2018). The clinic as a whole has its ups and downs. When you go you meet with the doctor once then deal strictly with nurses unless you request a doctor's appointment. The 1st doctor i saw wanted to jump straight to IVF after 3 unresponsive letrozole cycles but my insurance wouldnt cover unless we had 6 failed cycles, so he retiesd and Balmir steps in. I loved her immediately and we had a great game plan in place for IVF in August. Unfortunately she went on maternity leave so i was stuck with Wakim. He ended up changing my entire medication protocol and as a result i only had 1 mature egg and was converted to an iui which also failed. While going through this the nurses would call give me new medications and instructions and when i ask why i was never given real answers and i think thats because the doctors dont give the nurses enough information. They just say or write what the nurses are supposed to say and if the patient has questions the nurses have to wing it pretty much. So September comes and we try another egg retrieval. Again im under Wakim -.- this time he actually sticks to the plan i had with Balmir and we get 24 mature follicles on my egg retrieval (ended with 10 embryos so very good). Wakim had briefly mention OHSS but i never got a guide on what exactly to look for in their paperwork! After my retrieval i couldnt walk or sit or stand. I took extra time off work and still didnt feel better. When i called the doctors office i got my normal nurse who ive had for almost the whole 2 years so she really knows me and i told her all my symptoms and how much pain i was in, i couldnt walk down a hall without almost being in tears. She gets me in immediately that day. I wait 45mins for Wakim to show up and he barely even does a physical exam his first words after coming in the room were "oh you'll be alright kid you just need to get your period"!!! What a horrible thing to say to 1. Someone in so much pain 2. How dare you say that to a woman who DOESNT ovulate naturally! He then goes to calculate my period starting the next week and puts me on bed rest since i cant work. The nurse had to force him to do an exam and she actually led the appointment and advocated for me. Again he never mentioned OHSS at this appointment nor what to look for. By the weekend i was in the hospital being told my abdomen and chest had filled with fluid and i had a collapsed bladder and ovaries. But remember id feel better with a period, what a joke. My period did come but 2 weeks later than he predicted so if i had just stayed on bedrest id be dead. I took him off my service and demanded Balmir to take back over so i then had to endure a power struggle as it seemed he didnt want to give up control and Balmir is playing mediator cuz im about to strangle this man.

Overall, Wakim sucks. Balmir is great and Homa is alright. The nurses and ultrasound techs are fabulous. The nurses can be a little slow getting through all the patients but theyve gotten better the last few months.

My friend ended up with this “doctor” because it was his turn in the rotation...... he botched the whole egg retrieval and she did not get one single egg! She had to do the whole thing over and the next doctor got 22 eggs! She was so scared over nothing but a doctor that has no idea what he is doing! Save yourself the trouble and start anywhere else! He didn’t even know her name, always called her KIDDO!

Dr Wakim is top notch! I started seeing him a year ago he has been extremely supportive, helpful and so professional in everything he does and all the decisions he makes... he treated us as if we were family and that made us even more confortable. Retrieved 18 eggs - 16 fertilized and we have 10 healthy embryos. So excited about the whole situation and I would definitely recommend Dr Wakim. He absolutely knows what he is doing just trust him!!!! I love dr Wakim he is the best!!!!

This is sort of a late review considering my daughter is now 8 months and I started seeing dr wakim in 2013 but I remember researching all of this and being so torn. I love Dr. Wakim for more reasons that I can explain. First and foremost, he gave me my beautiful baby girl. .. I could never thank him enough. Second, he was so patient with me. I ended up pregnant from my first unmedicated IUI but that ended in a blighted ovum. After healing and several failed IUIs (my insurance didn't cover anything), he agreed to just take the money and spend it on IVF. My first cycle did not work and I was devastated but we still had several embryos. He told me that if I were his daughter, he would transfer two embryos so I listened and both stuck.. Unfortunately, around 9 weeks. we lost one of our babies but we ended up with my sweet baby girl. Dr Wakim knows what he's doing you just have to have a little faith in him.. I thanked him so much and he said don't thank me, just say a prayer for me.

How do you ever thank someone for giving you the best gift in the entire world? Dr. Wakim was very kind and had a sweet demeanor. It was really hard to be sitting in his office and I felt like he really felt our pain. He told me I'd be pregnant and he was right. It happened for us twice - both FET cycles. There was a BFN and miscarriage along the way but you know when you get that positive and finally hold that child it makes every single tear worth it. I will never forget the people at Magee. Thank you Dr. Wakim and staff! All were very caring and just a phone call away if I ever had any questions.

Dr. Wakim is very kind hearted and I felt like he really knew how hard it was to be sitting in his office for fertility treatments. He was very patient and kind throughout the whole process. He said you will be pregnant and luckily for us he was right. We cannot express how grateful we are to everyone that helped us through this trying time in our life. Everyone at Magee was fantastic. They were always only a phone call away to answer my questions.
