I saw Dr. Karol this week. It was a unique experience of a physician actually listening to you. Her compassion shined through and well as her warmth. Highly recommend her. Great doctor and personable.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Karol. She is the first doctor I have ever had that actually "listened" to me. She has made me feel very comfortable and I am able to talk to her about all of my medical concerns without feeling that I will be judged and never rushes me out of her office.

Nina karol is a wonderful charming and down-to-earth doctor. I have been seeing her for a dozen or more years. I adore her and would work with her any day of the week except for one thing. She works at Internal Medicine Associates of Westport. This is by far the worst operational staff I have ever encountered anywhere. An example is illustrative. I received a head injury playing squash. I was concerned that I might have cracked a vertebrate or received a concussion. Monday morning first thing, I called Nina Karol's office. After speaking with her nurse, and following the nurse having a short consultation with the Doctor, they requested I come in before making a referral for an x-ray. Switched to the front desk, they asked if I needed an appointment this week. I suggested that if indeed I had a broken neck it might be a good idea to come in sooner, than later. The receptionist suggested I go to the emergency room. I'm changing doctors.

I was very anxious about some recent lab results I received. Dr. Karol scientifically analyzed my medical situation and has very through and straight forward about what I need to do. She showed great compassion and understanding. We need more physicians like Dr. Karol. She treated me as a patient and a person. Highly recommend.

I saw Dr. Karol for several years and was never happy. I had to suggest things to her. She never asked questions pertaining to my health. She did did ask if worked and was surprised I didn't, making me feel degraded. She was also surprised that I have a 15 year old at my age (56) and wanted to know if it was due to a second marriage! She told me repeatedly that I was over weight as her tummy pushed out from under her sweater- my weight at the time was 150 and I am 5'6". She tried pushing me into taking drugs for cholesterol instead of giving me alternative options. My levels weren't that high. I told her of pain in my right heel and right groin; her answer was I seemed to have a lot of pain on that side without investigating it or telling me who else to see. On my own, I found out I had plantar fasciitis in my heel and severe arthritis in my hip. I found her extremely rude and lacking in compassion or advice. I would not recommend her to anyone! I have since found another doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Karol for several years now. I continue to see her because she does not keep me waiting, she is attentive to my needs, takes time with me, answers all of my questions, has a wonderful manner, and seems to have my best interests and health in mind.

Dr. Karol has joined the ranks of physicians pushing statin drugs. She showed no emotion or compassion for me, rather she scared me! I would not recommend her to anyone who wants a doctor that looks at the whole picture and advises her patients accordingly. She called me about blood test results on a Friday so I would not worry and left a message that had me very concerned all weekend. When I finally talked with her she made my condition sound much worse than it really is. She tried to push statin drugs in me again and made no mention of exercise. I seemed to know more that she did about healthy ways to lower cholesterol. She did not take into consideration the fact that I have had the most stressful year of my life in her treatment of me. The people who work in her office are unhappy and do not even introduce themselves to you, or smile. She seems unhappy and also did not smile. She said many things that made me very stressed out, worried and nervous. I will not go back.

While in her office she is great and attentive but if you call her with a question or concern she will never call you back. The office seems overextended...maybe that's just the way it is these days.

Very positive about this physician. She has helped me lower my lipid profile without medications. She spends a great deal of time listening. Wonderful experience.
