dr. mc millan did a shoulder surgery for me in 2007. At the time i was happy to have it worked on but after ward I was in more pain than before. Nearly 10 years later i know why . He never did do shoulders. He only did about 1/3 of the planed surgery and didn't bother to tell me that afterward. End result was a shoulder that constantly dislocates and has been made even harder to get back into place. Thanks much McMillan

An IME requested by the WCB for my client was a joke. He has assessed my client less than a year before and failed to recognize the worker. This conflict of interest was placed solely on the worker whom has a grade 8 education and a learning disability that effects his memory, processing and retention. The Highly educated specialist stated that he did not recognize my client for one reason. He is greedy and wanted the money the WCB paid for his biased opinion. There are 4 orthos's that disagree with Jimmies diagnosis. Do NOT, under any circumstances see this joke of a Dr. unless you are rich and can pay him yourself for a biased opinion. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

This Dr. WORKS for WCB. The Independent Medical Exam he performed was in no way independent. Two months prior to the IME, another Ortho recommended surgery, and with this information and the information from the Appeals Commission, he STILL sided with the WCB even though medical evidence suggested otherwise.

Great job. Absolutely no problems after surgery. Follow up was excellent. I had knee surgery and was very pleased at the out come. It has been about one and half years with no side affects. I teach PE in a high school.

Dr McMillan is by far the best orthopedic surgeon out there, I was very skeptical of having surgery performed on my knee, for fear it would weaken the knee further, he spent the time to show me the pros and cons of the operation. very knowledgable! Since then I have had two knee operations on my left knee by him, after suffering several knee dislocations prior to the surgery I am happy to report that since the last operation I have not suffered another knee dislocation. Prior to this site I have been recommending him to anyone I know that requires an orthopedic surgeon. He is very helpful post surgery, as well as, before surgery explaining what they are going to do in the operating room. I have seen several Orthopedic surgeons in my life prior to Dr. McMillan and I can testify to the fact you won't find a better surgeon in Alberta or Canada!! Yes, he has a wonderful sense of humour!!!

I had arthroscopy on my left shoulder at the end of October. I find Dr McMillan very kind and funny, however, he tends not to be very informative. You have to come in prepared with all your questions. I imagine most specialists are like this. The surgery went well. The follow up appointments go very quickly - I am in and out in minutes. Not a lot of time spent with the patient. I have heard he is one of the best Orthopaedic Surgeons around. Came highly recommended.

I have been treated by Dr McMillan in the past, and have seen him to seek treatment for two different joint problems since then. He shrugged off my problems as unimportant and unfixable. Then ANOTHER surgeon promptly DID fix the troubles. I went through almost two years of horrible pain, not to mention WCB nightmares, because this doctor didn't want to fix a problem. A second opinion changed everything. I will never seek this guy out again. I am sure he is a good surgeon, but first you have to convince him to DO the surgery, which is hard.
