Read about his sexual assault conviction in which he was found guilty by a jury of his peers.

I've never met a doctor with a bigger ego in my life. I needed referrals and he kept questioning why I needed a referral for an endocrinologist (type 1 diabetes) and I told him I'm comfortable with the doctor I have. I also said I needed insulin in the mean time to hold me over and he said "No, you need to get out!." He then proceeded to leave the room and I asked what the problem was multiple times, he wouldn't respond.

At this point ill admit my anger got the best of me and I called him an asshole and some other choice words. All in all an awful experience and I hope this doctor gets his license taken from him.

Staff refused to supply the Florida department board of medicine complaint information as well. His license is already restricted from assaulting a patient so every complaint counts. If you had a bad experience with this guy call the board and complain.

Here's all the info needed to file a complaint.

    Dr. Gunwant S. Dhaliwal's response
As patients have choice of selecting Physicians, the Providers have the privilege of selecting patients to whom they provide care. Our office is a private medical office and not Charity place. Our office has the right to refuse care to a patient with attitude problem especially the one that does not have respect for the provider. Rather than terminating Doctor-Patient relationship, it is better not to even start it.
Such patients go door to door trying to find a physician to their liking and usually do not find it.

Does this doctor communicate with his staff at all? Complete waste of time.

This doctor has been in practice for over 23 years. In any business you can not run business without communicating with your staff especially for 23 years.
This patient probably did not get what he/she came for ??

Horrible experience, will not return. Don't schedule an appointment, you'll wait up to an hour anyway. Staff seemed completely lost. Dr. will cut you off while you're talking. Very rude.

    Dr. Gunwant S. Dhaliwal's response
Apology for the horrible experience. At times, for any unknown reasons patients have to wait but we feel proud of our facility seeing most of the walk-in patients within 30 minutes.
If the patient continues to talk that is not related to medical issues, the doctor has to cut the patient off even if it is considered rude. There are other patients waiting to be seen. You should find a physician that can spend couple of hours listening to your issues.

First off, I have gone here about 3 times in the past, for the flue and bronchitis. I am a diabetic and had an EXCELLENT doctor in Sarasota (Dr. Agabani). Due to my work schedule, I could no longer make it to Sarasota as Dr. Agabani is not open on the weekends, and cannot afford to take a full day off to go down there. I chose Dr. Dhaliwal because not only is he open on Saturdays, but he asked about my diabetes all three times I went, asking if everything is ok, even told me he could be my diabetic doctor in the future. He also asked about blood tests, when was the last time I had one, how were my results, seemed genuin. Even though the staff isn't very friendly, it was convenient. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!!!!!!!! I went in there today and NEVER in my life have I come out crying from a doctors visit. My appointment was at 9am. I went back with the girl sat in the room for what seemed like forever before he came in...there were only 2 other people besides myself, but I was the first to go back. He came in the room and asked why I was there, and I explained I could no longer see my regular diabetic doctor. He then asks me why I need a diabetic doctor. Dumbfounded, I could only respond with "I'm diabetic." He then asked about my blood sugar this morning. I explained to him I have not yet taken my sugar yet, but I have my log, which I gave to him. He then asked me why I take my sugar so many times (twice a day). I explained that my whole family has diabetes, my father actually passed away due to complications of diabetes and Dr. Agabani took that into consideration when suggesting I take it after every meal. Moving on, he says "and what is that going to prove, if youre sugar is too high what are you going to do about it? You should only be taking your sugar once or twice a week" I again explained my family history, which they never even asked about, and if I do take it and its extremely high I can counter act it with medication or go to the hospital. He then tells me that doen't make sense and proceeds to tell me in the coldest way possible..again his exact words "Youre going to need to find a primary diabetic doctor, you can come see me for colds like you have in the past but I am not going to treat you for youre diabetes" Then walked out. This was the WORST experience I have EVER had. Who treats people this way? Why did you become a doctor if you don't care about people's health? Go here if you want, that's up to you. I literally walked out and cried. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!

    Dr. Gunwant S. Dhaliwal's response
Every physician or office treats diabetes differently. There is no reason to check sugar in non-insulin patient for more than twice a week to give idea of counts over 2 or 3 months. There was nothing to get upset. Just find a physician that practices according to your ideals. Our office can not make everybody happy.

I've kown and been a patient of Dr Dhaliwal for over 16 years.. First, while living in New port Richey, where I had lived for 30 years prior.. After retiring and moving to Georgia I have continued to drive the 300 miles to Florida to visit his medical office.. Dr Dhaliwal is smart, very smart, Ask a question and get an immediate answer. He is also a excellent surgeon as demonstrated by removing a number of squamous cell Carcinoma's from my head, ear's and neck, over the years. He is able to spot these dangerous Cancers and remove without issue, on six occasions, at least . I have an appointment for April 4 for yearly check up, plus two susoicious areas on ear and neck. During the year 2013, with Dr Dhaliwal out of the country I was diagnosed with anothe,r on the ear.. The treatment planned was very over the top and I mean over the top, I called to speak with Dr Dhaliwal about this but he was as said above out of the country..However, Dr Dhaliwal DID call me from half way around the world and shared his thoughts; A knowledgeable Physician whom I would trust with my life... A good guy !

Went to Dr Dhaliwal's office as they advertise that they do DOT physicals. Upon entering the office the front desk was rude and unpleasant to deal with. Then the medical assistant took us back and she was not friendly and acted like she didn't want to be there. She took my husbands weight, it was off by 20 lbs. (weighed on 2 different scales that day). Then she did the eye exam and the distance away from the chart was wrong. Then she took his blood pressure and it was high (which he knows he has high BP and takes meds for). But she only took it once didn't let him rest and settle down. Then Dr. Dhaliwal's came in and immediately said why would you come in here if your blood pressure is here. (Which we didn't know it was going to be high) then he proceed to argue with my husband about his BP and that he didn't care it was our money we were wasting. Dr. Dhaliwal was very rude and arrogant, he is a Doctor you are suppose diffuse the situation and not make it worse. We left in the middle of the visit, due to his rudeness. I would not recommend this facility. Everyone was miserable that worked there. People are sick or in need of treatment or care and should be a up lifting or encouraging place to go. It was the opposite here. We then went to another facility, was given a complete head to toe physical with kind and warming professional staff.

    Dr. Gunwant S. Dhaliwal's response
Everything was going well till you were told that your Blood Pressure is high and you may not be able to get DOT Medical Certificate. You left the office without paying the office visit. Usually per office protocol, DOT office visit is charged Upfront, in your case the office staff gave a courtesy and you took advantage of not paying it. Dr. Dhaliwal is in practice for 21 years and more than half of the staff is working for over 10 years, that speaks for itself.

My wife and I have been under Dr. Dhaliwal's care for over fifteen years. He is a very caring and compassionate Doctor. He saved the life of my wife by diagnosis of her cancer in the very early stages. He was in constant contact with her oncologist and assisted her in dealing with the results of chemotherapy and radiation. He continually encouraged my wife and helped her through a most trying time with compassion and professionalism. He has administered medical care in a very professional manner. His office staff is excellent, very helpful and caring. If you are looking for an excellent Doctor to care for your family medical needs then I would highly recommend Doctor Dhaliwal.
