I am responding to the post of March 23/10. I am the secretary mentioned and I recall the visit with this "really sick" lady. She arrived quite early and wanted to be seen immediately for her appointment. She was NOT in dire need of medical attention as the writer of the other post would have you believe. This patient who arrived early was being disruptive to me and my work so I kindly asked her to wait in the lobby downstairs until closer to her scheduled appointment time and she was more than happy to oblige my request. During this the doctor was in the exam room with another patient and never even spoke to this lady before her appointment!

Most compassionate and knowledgeable doctor I have ever gone to. Would highly recommend him if you're fortunate enough to be referred.

The negative comments below are bewildering. Dr. Finkelstein took the time to address all of my relevant concerns. He is the only doctor I've gone to that I need to show up 15 minutes early for to make my appointment. He was patient, extremely knowledgeable, and compassionate. I'd highly recommend him to all -whether you require medical attention or not.

I am confused by all the comments below. I found this doctor to be incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. I would recommend him to any friend or family member as he is very adept at helping patients with lots of questions deal with very stressful situations.

very good doctor, doesn't want to hear other health issues brought up because he's "just a cardiologist" but a very good one in my opinion. He's always on time, his secretary is really nice and tries to help as much as possible. They have a good raport in the office and it makes the visits much more comfortable and relaxed. As a long-time patient I recommend him to anyone.

I've met some ignorant people in my time but nobody to match this jerk. He doesn't listen to what you're saying and then argues with you about what you've said. His ignorance is surpassed only by his undeserved arrogance. Unless you want to test your heart by going to him as the ultimate stress test then go to someone else - anyone else - you couldn't do any worse.

I also got mixed reviews, some love him and some hate him. The thing I heard the most was his terrible bedside manner. It's true! After my husbands procedure he left a note to say" sorry it didn't work, come see me in 3 mths". He didn't take the time to say why or if there were other options. Even the pharmacist said he was the rudist dr. she had every spoken to when she questioned his dosage. When you are sick you need someone on your side.It seems like hes not! Just take your meds and shut up! I'm not one to wait around so I researched options for Atrial fibrillation on the net and I called my family Dr. and told her to find us someone else. Three months later my husband had an ablation at the General and three months after that got an excellent check-up and only takes blood pressure meds! No more A-Fib!

My husband and I love this doctor. He does get down to business but never felt rushed. When I was in the ER they recommended another cardiologist but when my family doctor heard who it was he referred me to Dr Finkelstein. I felt that he was warm and explained everything to me. My husband felt the same way. Would recommended him to anyone. If you want to be babied then maybe he's not the doctor for you. Keep up the good work Doc!!

I've been a long time patient with this doctor. After reading these reviews I am very disappointed that others do not see him as I do. He is a no B.S. kind of guy. He tells you how it is and that's that. He doesn't get into the rest of your health issues because he only knows cardiology. As for being abrupt, he is but a lot of the patients come into the office smelling strongly of cigarettes and such, if you're not going to help yourself why should he?? It's your life, not his! He is EXTREMELY punctual and I usually like his humour! It may be a little off the wall but that's what makes it kinda funny. I do think he should tone down some of the language that he uses though. Other than that he is a wonderful doctor and has helped me a lot through the years!! Thank you Dr. Finkelstein!!!!
