I have been using Dr. Yam as family physician since for > 15 years since he opened his clinic at the Crowfoot circle (his office is at a Edgemont strip mall now). Dr. Young is patient, and is willing to take time to explain medical concern and condition (That's why he is running behind schedule most of the time. The only drawback with any family physician is that at times, it is difficult to make an immediate appointment.

Dr. Yam is a very knowledgable doctor. He has been my doctor since I started university about 10 years ago. He is very helpful and explains his diagnosis in detail (it is not this because, not this because, and so on)... And he is very good at making conversation and making you feel comfortable during an exam. Very nice, caring person.

Difficult to make an appt for a physical with Dr. Yam. Tried to make an appt 8 months ago for a physical and was told that I had to be placed on a waiting list with over 200 patients on it! Still waiting for an appt. Called again today and was told that there was nothing they could do to fit me in. What kind of doctor doesn't make time for his patients to take a physical exam?

Dr. Yam is okay. He is too rushed and his staff are quite rude and stuck-up.

Dr. Yam is an excellent doctor who passionately cares for his patients. He cares so much so that he has not been accepting new patients for more than 15 years!!! He always takes the time and systematically finds the root cause(s) of problems. He has good follow-ups. His staff is excellent, friendly and accommodating where there is a need. Perhaps that was why sometimes he rushed from seeing one patient to the next catching up with timely appointments, because "one urgent need to see him" from me! He is also committed in helping students and dedicated some of his time to support the university health clinic. I am thankful that I met him at the university 20 years ago!

Dr. Yam is rushed sometimes, but it is because he spends time to explain EVERYTHING to patients. When I needed to see a specialist, he was able to refer me in a matter of days, rather than weeks/months compared to my other friends and family. He has a very compassionate voice, so it is very easy to talk to him and ask him questions. Lastly, you can tell he is a great person who cares about his patients.

Dr Yam is an excellent Dr. He always has time to discuss your concerns, very knowledgeable and if he is unsure will send you to a specialist. He has very good connections to the specialist fields.

Dr. Yam is one of the best doctors I have encountered. He is sensitve to his patients' emotional and psychological issues.He is also careful when prescribing medications.I would recoomend Dr. Yam to my friends.
