Thank you, for your post. I recently had Dr. Jennifer Knox drop me. I waited 1.5 months to see Dr. Knox. I'm completely humiliated. I read on-line how Dr. Knox helped all over the world. However, the day BEFORE my first appointment I dropped off my blood lab history, prescriptions, and mentioned in a letter how Dr. Fondren took care of me by partnering to be my doctor. Dr. Knox's office called and said Dr. Knox DID NOT believe in my previous care and that Dr. Knox wanted to dictate my care. However, all my elevated levels were documented on blood labs with history of what specialists etc followed on regular basis. In the letter I put "I like to partner with my doctors and I get all my blood labs and records to keep em with me." You should always get your blood labs and keep them in a file. Dr. Fondren was great and saw me through the worst times in my life while explaining EVERYTHING. I just can't afford his new fee structure now with my Blue Cross PPO high deductibles any more.

It's obvious he's dedicated to his profession and patients. I don't fear being dropped from his practice for making suggestions. He considers and follows through with patients idea's.

He sent me for scans I needed. He's on time. Works with you, not against you. Office staff faxes blood work to you right away. He has plenty of front office staff to cover his patients needs. He calls you the night your blood labs come in, and talks to you for a while. He's on time. Has his own little practice, like an old time country doctor, but younger. Even though he does not take Blue Cross. From what I read - he fought Blue Cross to get scans approved for his patients, BC retaliated, dropping him. It's worth it. My bill is 150.00 for about 45 minute meeting! BC returns 50.00 to me (his office files out the forms for you). Turns out I only pay about 40.00 more than I would seeing a less competent, late, doctor. So worth an extra 40.00 to me.

I've had some pretty bad experiences from Hoag Doctors for a while due to some form of incompetence to take time to do their jobs right or even thinking before acting ..Or, who knows what their excuse has been... However, Dr. Fondrin has been pretty good. I was experiencing tremors and he found high levels of mercury (advised me what kind of doc to see to de-tox) and also did extensive blood work beyond what any other doctor did.. and found underlying low red count beyond the regular CBCs others did. He calls you every night he gets the labs and talks to ya. I think this guy actually likes being a doctor and takes it seriously. He has a little bit of a sense of humor too; as though he really likes his job and patients, wants to get to know them. I've had some pretty bad experiences with HOAG doctors and political Hoag hospital. So for me to write this, I would recommend him. It seems he will allow any testing to help make an accurate decision. Pretty cool for a Hoag Doctor; he has more smarts than attitude. His staff is pretty right on things. I think he spends a lot of money making
