I do not know where the issue is but about 10 years ago had my first colonoscopy with Dr. Banks. At the follow-up with her PA I was advised that I had Ulcerative Colitis and Diverticulitis. She showed me the pics from the scope and prescribed medication. Advised me what I coud not eat etc. Due to family history (grandfather had colon cancer) Dr. Banks placed me on a 2 - 3 year Colonoscopy schedule. So over the last 10 years I have had 3 procedures under her care. I became dissatisfied with the front office staff and tried a new Dr. when I explained my history and that I was no longer on meds had not been since the first one ran out, he said he doubted i had UC because medicine is part of the maintenance. We did another colonoscopy and he told me I had nothing but a totally healthy colon. Maybe the inflammation could have gone away but the Diverticulitis no way. It was hard getting the records and you know doctors are like the blue line they don't speak against each other but I think I got caught in a colonoscopy mill. Even if the first exam was misdiagnosed it was never corrected over the successive test. Unnecessary operative procedures that each have risk. Be wary!!!

Abandment. Ill.since aug. Finally all tests finished. Call pharmacy, she had fired me via pharmacy and took life saving meds away. She never bother call my dr.she was angry over an alleged script quote, I knew about. No I did not nor did that practice. I am extremely ill. Oh I was referred to heR. Unable make apt. Other dr wanted milk medicare. Saw my primary again told him I call het office 2 weeks. Told her same . blaming a patient for a prescription. I don't write them . There is no record of it at my dr if he could provide this med, he would not referred me. She has not answered my drs calls . she broke the law. In fact sent letter to cover her weeks after . Tried attys, unless I die and or get cancer they will not represent me. Best bet is my congressman. Straight to medicare. From aug to Dec finally meds. She ruined everything. Her issue was with my dr practice. Did she call no. Return his calls or faxes no. Send test results no. In fact my dr fill out release form. One had already been completed. No test results. Get fr lab but it's a pain . However she ask for results fr my dr.he sent them promptly Btw one visit . I was impressed. She said she did not judge. Many drs accuse patients of using drugs, etc . This is a mystery. As my tests negative. Told her maybe insect . It's also a relative of a disease I had in 2006. Avoid her . Btw there is a memo at desk. she would not get meds pre approved she's in a specialty requiring expensive meds however no problem with my hmo
I call to get meds expedited. She also prescribed another meds contraindicated . She read my med issues one is asthma however I would have taken the med combo. She took life saving meds away . No notice and no legal excuse .I knew 0 of the mystery script til after my visit. I got it straight n out then saw my dr. No record . Taking this out on a patient! Call the practice where it occurred .

I rate the office staff higher than Dr. Banks because I spent more time with the staff than with Dr. Banks. I waited an hour to meet and speak with Dr. Banks for the consultation appointment for a colonoscopy. Definitely not the way to begin a doctor-patient relationship. Unfortunately, her lateness caused me to be late for an appointment in VA. Dr. Banks provided me with good information about the procedure. Her staff reviewed the preparatory steps with me. I learned more information about the "prep stage" on the Harvard Univ.'s medical web page. The College Park Surgery Center staff was professional & helpful even when the MoviPrep was still "kicking in" as they prepared me for procedure. I only spoke with Dr. Banks a few minutes before the procedure, which was a breeze--thankfully. I never spoke to her again; not even for the follow-up appointment, which was handled by the physician assistant. The staff handled most of my inquiries even after I requested to speak with Dr. Banks

I was able to schedule an appointment within a reasonable timeframe. During my visit Dr. Banks did thorough assessment and explained the procedure (colonoscopy). I was able to schedule the appointment on the date I requested and was able to get an early morning appointment. The staff at the surgery center was beyond professional. The nurses were excellent in preparing me for surgery. The anesthesiologist was good;all I saw was the medication in her hand when I got to the procedure room and then I was “out like a light”. Dr. Banks explained the procedure again before starting. The procedure started on time. I was walking out by 8:30 am. I had no problems (pain/discomfort) and went on my 9 mile jog the next day. My follow-up appointment went well. I was informed of the findings and given literature to read. The only thing that was a major challenge (with emphasis) was getting that MoviPrep down. BTW-don’t forget to send in the $20 refund. I got it within about 5 weeks.

I love Dr. Banks becaused she saved my life! When other doctors had no idea what was going on with me, Dr. Banks did the necessary blood work, diagnosed me with Autoimmune hepititus. It was a relief to know what was happening to my body. She walked me through everything step by step, she even held my hand before I went under at a hospital she wasn't affiliated with, now that's bedside manner. I will always be grateful to her for everthing she's done for me and my family!!!

Dr Banks is extremely knowledgeable however when my daughters health insurance lapses and the new company required records from her office they repeatedly said they would send them and didn't for over 1 1/2 months despite many calls and faxes. I think it's shameful that a doctor would hold up someones health insurance for that amount of time.

Dr. Banks is very personable and listened, but if you value your time, think twice. The office is inefficient. I arrived at 2:50 p.m. for a 3:00 p.m. appointment and wasn't seen until 4:30 p.m.
