Surprised to hear that Dr Roy finally retired!
I’m surprised that he was allowed to practice all those years!

I am glad that he has finally retired! He damn near killed my father in 2020 the prescription he provided knowing of his brain aneurysm! The prescription should NEVER be prescribed to anyone over 50 an my father was 65 years old and with any conditions to do with the brain! He had multiple seizures due to this medication that nearly killed him! He should have retired many years ago and his licence taken away back when he prescribed all the narcotics to people as per his CPSO hearings. I was lucky to get my father out from his care and with a doctor who knows what they are doing! My father was with him for over 50 years so I am sure he was older then 70!

DR. ROY HAS BEEN MY DOCTOR SINCE 1973 AND A CO-WORKER AT THE HOSPITAL AND I HAVE FOUND HIM TO BE TRULY PROFESSIONAL AS I AM AND HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE THROUGH ALL MY UPS AND DOWNS. HE LOOKED AFTER MY BOYS AND HE ALSO TOOK ON MY NEW HUSBAND. GREAT SENSE OF HUMOUR AND ALWAYS LISTENED . AS HE AGED IN THE RECENT YEARS I FOUND HIM A LITTLE SLOWER BUT IF HE DIDN'T KNOW SOMETHING OR WAS UNSURE ; HE WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND A SPECIALIST AND THAT IS A GOOD THING. HE NEVER TREATED ME BADLY EVER AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. NOW HE IS RETIRING I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST AND WILL THANK HIM GREATLY. SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER DONE EVER BEFORE BUT NOW I WILL SAY THIS----BILL ; THANK-YOU FOR ALL YOUR YEARS OF CARE

Dr. Roy has been treating myself and my family for over a decade. He is polite, respectful and always follows up when we have tests done. I consider myself lucky to be in his care and would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a friendly and reliable GP.

I have been a patient of Dr Roy for about 40 years and in all that time I can honestly say that he has never been inappropriate, he has always been professional. He is a caring doctor, who has looked after me. To read some of the comments written about him is very disappointing to hear people talking about Dr Roy in that matter.

William Roy is the biggest Drug Dealer in Durham. He has ruined many lives and only got a slap on the wrist for it. He needs to compensate patients for the suffering he has caused.

Was always such a great Dr for many years but last 2019/2020 its been terrible, He is 70 and needs to retire. With the Covid19 I have sen him in person he doesnt wear a mask at all, supposed to call and he never calls. Really beleivable what I am reading below with all the complaints

Having witnessed first hand with 2 separate elderly neighbours, the shameless way he hands out prescriptions, should have been reported years ago! One neighbour was totally bedridden, he had COPD, his way of treating him was let his son tell him then prescribe through him, never having listened to his chest, the man couldn't possibly come to the clinic. Nevertheless we watched him deteriorate, the so called Doctor never made any arrangements to have him examined in his home. I have always blamed him for his terrible death. Now I'm watching my other elderly neighbour being shuffled with pills, never giving her any results from tests, now her daughter has taken matters into her own hands and got an appointment for her at Sunnybrook Hospital because we all know there is something wrong! He should have quit years ago, so many bad reviews , and people are still going to this so called doctor. Shame on the staff for not speaking up!

Dr. Roy was my doctor from birth until 29 years old. He was the Dr. for everyone in my family.

He is inept and dangerous.
Instead of talking to me about birth control options when I had a hormonal reaction, he just started giving me random samples he would find in his office. "Try this."
He gave me a prescription for prednisone without any information or context for a skin issue - this resulted in a skin flare-up that took over my entire body and made me ill for months. I am now on a skin medication for the rest of my life as a result.

He's doled out opioids like candy over the years to many of my family members, many of whom are now deceased far before their time.
Not at all surprised to see his suspension and quite frankly, I wish it had happened sooner and for longer.
