I went in for a consult for immediate dentures & referral to oral surgeon, with my HMO charge schedule I was only allowed to pay $975 for my services. Patient treatment plan was a total of $2,073! He added 2 "lab fees" of $549 each, calling them hidden HMO fees. He also referred me to an oral surgeon. I called Ins. from parking lot, ins called his office and was told they printed the "wrong treatment plan" b/c wron dental plan was entered and I was to be referred to a prosthodontist b/c I needed to much work. I went back in to office to get updated treatment plan, was nervously greeted by receptionist and made to wait 20 min. to talk to assistant, she said that the lab fees were upgrade fees to premium dentures and hmo dents had no back teeth, if I could not pay the full $2,073 I would be referred to a prosthodontist which we all understood that hmo does not cover, basically, pay the xtra fees or we don't treat you! DR seems very nice & gentle, just dont use HMO!
