We've had Dr. Jawahir as our family doctor for more than 10 years. My father was diagnosed with Hepatitis and before it was too late, Dr. Jawahir went out of his way, got him to a good specialist which ended up saving his life before it got too late. When we got the letter in the mail, we were greatly saddened and only prayed for the best of his well being because of how he put his patients first throughout his practice and I had truly experienced that myself. Like most others who’ve posted here, I’ve yet to find a doctor of such high caliber. Would be great if he were to come back to practice but that would be very selfish to say so.

My parents greatly miss Dr. Jawahir (even though, my parents had a language barrier with him. And I usually had to translate) and we whole heartedly hope and pray for his strength and well being, wherever he may be.

The only doctor that I ever felt listened to me was Dr Jawahir. I called for an appointment and was told he was no longer working-I will probably just go to walk-in clinics until I find another doctor like him. I was in elementary school with Jordan- he was awesome and I was at his funeral. I had thought that Dr J would eventually start working again, but we lost two really good people the day Jordan died.

George was and is the best doctor this city had. At 33 I had to have back surgery, George offered me all the support and guidance to deal with it. Helped get to see the best surgeon in Mississauga and took the time to heal me from a major life changing event. He was there for my mom and dad the whole family and we miss him a lot. He is very wise and this city lost a great medical resource.

Saw him at the supermarket today
Was sad to hear that he had made a decision to never practice again
Said he did not want to have anything more to do with a profession where another doctor and the clinic can would deliberately harm him and everyone else thought that was fine
My wife and I had felt secure in his care and will miss his special way of treating patients

I just found out that he was not coming back to practice. Was very good and understanding. I moved from Guelph but he still filled my prescriptions and sent lab test forms to my pharmacy and called me with the results. Will have to find a new family doctor and hope we find one as good
I understand why he had to be off and my family sends him our deepest sympathy

I only saw Dr Jawahir once. He was on-call and my doc was unavailable. I had seen numerous other docs about an insect bite which was infected, though other docs said it was not. He took more time than anyone else and gave an opinion different than the previous docs. It was clear that he REALLY cared and that the other docs had a variety of level of empathy, though none as deep as Jawahir. I got a copy of his notes, and they said that he decided to prescribe treatment for an infection, in order to err on the side of caution. Re loss of his son, it seems that his deep empathy for his pts comes from a similar place as his deep grief for his son. I wish him the best, and feel fortunate to have been a pt for a day.

WOW! I'm really surprised to see all this "stuff" written on the subject of Dr. Jawahir. I innocently came on line to see if we (my husband is a patient of Dr. Jawahir) could find any information regarding his son's death ... then I saw all of this! On behalf of my husband who has been a patient of Dr. Jawahir for years, he has only the highest regard for Dr. Jawahir both on a personal and professional level. My husband is actually quite fond of Dr, Jawahir and routinely mentioned "he was a good doctor". We are deeply sorry for his loss and wish him well.

To the person who wrote > I am the person who left the review regarding his disappearance from the register. I did multiple searches two different times, and his name did NOT come up. It was done "properly", i.e. the same way his name came up in past searches.< All I have to say to you is - look your name up in dictionary under A-HOLE cause you sure are a S##T Disturber. This is NOT a forum for you to Blah,Blah,Blah. or belly ache. Who are you?? and how do YOU know so much about anything. I suggest you stop your whinning. Dr Jawahir has explained himself - which he did not have to do, so DROP IT ALREADY. Geez who cares. Dr Jawahir has been my doctor for more than 15yrs. Maybe he rushed your friends out of his office, because they were jack asses like you. Dr. Jawahir NEVER rushed me out of his office and I resent you trying to bad mouth him. Dr Jawahir is a good doctor, a good man, and is grieving the loss of his son. Who of us at work at times isn't overwhelmed/overworked we all are. You say this of Dr Jawahir like it's a bad thing.
Your comment > If there is a question of his mental state, which is completely understandable, the College has a duty to investigate. I have no idea as to the truth of any colleagues' allegation, but I would want know that any doctor was fit to practice, for his/her own sake and that of his/her patients. < Who is making these allegations besides YOU! and where do you get your information...all heresay. If you have no idea as to the TRUTH of these allegations, then the only reason you write it here is because you want to spread rumours and discredit Dr Jawahir. My reading comprehension of what you wrote leads me to believe you are a nasty, self important, idiot. Grow up!

George was the most helpful, caring doctor anyone could have been lucky enough to have, he went above and beyond to be there for his patients, when I had a problem he was always available even if it meant giving up his evening to see me at 7 or 8 pm, I don't know how anyone that was ever lucky enough to have him as a doctor could say anything negative or bad about him or the care he gave his patients at all. George, you went above and beyond you were the best doctor anyone could have had and you are missed more then you will ever know . I know I not only speak for myself when I say, you were not only my doctor but you became my friend someone I could talk too and someone that was always there day or night. I wish you all the best, I know you life has changed forever and you are going through the unimaginable with losing Jordan .. ..thinking of you always, you will forever be the greatest doctor ever and I was so lucky to be one of your patients. Arbor was fortunate to have such a dedicated doctor on their staff. I'm sure I speak for many when I say... . we will always miss Dr. George!
