This man is a fearmonger. Went in for Yellow Fever shot and he Got Very Angry when I said I didn't want every imaginable vaccine and booster while I was there. He tries to use fear as a tactic and bends the truth to get his point across (eg. uses WHO's meningitis belt inaccurately). Told me I was wasting His time (? what about this huge waste of mine?), that he hadn't gone to school for 12 years to get his time wasted and, childishly, and added he would sleep fine not worrying about me. Finally, after sitting through Over An Hour of his spiel and then his Petulant Anger, he gave me the shot I went for (I was starting to wonder if I would be getting it), and I left, relieved to finally be out of there. Oh, yes, he said I should have let the receptionist know I was only there for the Yellow Fever shot, which I had done - twice. Check elsewhere for prices too, especially Costco, where malaria tabs and Dukoral are much less and don't come with such a terrible hassle.

We cannot be happier with Dr Johnson who has taken care of our family's vaccination needs over the years. He is professional, courteous and great with all of our 3 kids.

My wife and I separately saw Dr. Johnson for shingles vacines. We both had the same impression of a very helpful and knowledgeable doctor. Very professional yet personable and easy to talk with.

Being a regular patient of Dr. Johnson since he first opened his travel clinic in 2006, I felt obliged to defend him against the nasty comments that a couple patients left about him. My entire family, including my 74 y.o. mother, husband and teenage kids have seen Dr. Johnson on many occasions throughout the years for trips to Africa, South America, the Middle East and Central America. What a fantastic doctor! He is patient, gentle, polite and incredibly thorough.....he certainly knows his stuff. For those fringe people who believe that vaccines are toxic or harmful, why would you bother going to a travel vaccination clinic expecting to be welcomed with hugs and kisses? You're basically wasting the doctor's time! Ditto for those people who somehow believe that Dr. Johnson should provide your travel vaccines free of charge. Would you like him to buy your airline ticket as well? We Canadians don't realize how lucky we are. Try living in the U.S. for a while like I did in the 70s.

Half of Dr. Johnson's clinic is dedicated to sexual health. As someone who had to see him twice a week for six months, I can say he is an awesome doctor. Very accepting, supportive, hopeful, but to the point. I have found, especially in Victoria, that doctors can be quite moralizing. I didn't get that sense at all from Dr. Johnson. If that test comes back positive - He's your man!

Dr. Johnson was extremely rude and cared more about lecturing on the importance of vaccinations that about actually helping me to get one. Same problem as another review - he threw me out of the office for not having had previous vaccinations even though I was explaining that I was there to get the vaccinations I needed. He assumed I was an idiot for my previous decision not to get vaccinated and also said my family doctor should have his license taken away for allowing me this decision. Poor listener and easily agitated.

Nice guy, knowledgeable about tropical diseases but scatterbrained. We had to get various shots over the span of several visits, and he was often unclear about which shot he was giving us when. I wondered if he might have forgotten to give us an important shot! He mentioned quickly that we were supposed to get a certain booster shot in 6 months, and I had to stop him and get him to write down the name of the medication and the date- who can remember verbal instructions 6 months later? Good thing, because they never sent that reminder e-mail that they promised...

I've just completed a series of travel vaccinations with Dr Johnson. He was great; gave loads of info, was very friendly and the vaccinations themselves were as painless as they can be. The woman at the front desk (I forget her name, sorry), was also very pleasant!

Some of Dr. Johnson's services are covered by BC Medical. He is kind, attentive and concerned for his patients. He has great "bedside" manner and is very professional. His office is not just a travel clinic - he also specializes in STD testing and preventative health issues.
