I really like Dr. Stecyk. I find him very knowledgeable and alway very plesant when I see him. I'm from ontario and had to wait 8 hours one time so an hour or so doesn't bother me.I hear he is retiring soon, which really sucks don't know what I will do for a family doctor. Especially one that is so cute..LOL...

I lost what confidence I had in Stecyk in the late 80's and took my family to another GP. Misdiagnosed my back pain as "spasms" when in fact a second doctor found that I suffered painfully from a herniated disc that caused me to miss 10 weeks from work and that required surgery. The final straw was when he said our infant son had a bad cold. We weren't satisfied with that and took him to the Royal Alex to discover that he had pneumonia and spent the next week in hospital under an oxygen tent.

Dr. Stecyk is amazing! He's the best doctor i ever had. he is very caring and very dedicated. I heard he is retiring soon, i'm sad to hear that. but yes, i wouldnt go with any other dr but him for my next baby. or if he is retired by that time, i'm sure he will find someone wonderfull to replace him. hopefully not dr azur who works in the same clinic as him. dr azur is the worst dr ever!

Dr. Stecyk delivered me, my daughter who is two and will be delivering my son in March. He is always very friendly and answers my questions. We lost a child at 16 weeks in May and he was so sympathetic and helpful during this very hard time. We ended up having to take our daughter to emerg the very next day due to the flu and Dr. Stecyk saw her even though he wasn't the doctor on call and had actually just got off shift from the night before. This really shows me that he cares about his patients.

I had been going to Stecyk since I was born. Now that I am in my late 20's I am finding that the quality of care received (or lack there of) has been very poor. Stecyk seems to have lost his interest in getting to the bottom of the problem. I was supposed to be refered to a specialist and same problem as I have read in prior ratings that I never got a call and when you call there his nurse makes you feel like you are dumb and that your wasting her time. Once upon a time Stecyk was an excellent doctor but now in present day the same excellence is just not there. The ladies at reception are great but his nurse that is there is not very nice at all. I have since found a new doctor that still loves his job.

While I find he is quite knowledgeable (and I like the fact that if he doesn't know the answer, he will send you to someone who does) but he is lacking in other areas. I have been waiting for a referral for approximately 7 months and when I went to see him recently to find out the status of the referral, he told me that I should've had a call about it already. That was about a month ago. I then call the office about the status (because now I'm just paranoid) and they tell me he hasn't done a referral letter yet so the nurses can do the actual referral. Other family members have also had problems with referrals and paperwork not getting done. It's incredibly frustrating. Also, his nurses need a bit of training in the way of friendliness as well.

Dr Stecyk has been our family Doctor for over 30 years. I find that each year that passes he gets less interested. He does not do tests that should be done and only does the bare minimun. He needs to be more agressive and do medical test for certain age groups when a people come in for a physical, not only blood work. Unless a persons knows what to ask for it doesn't get done. So if you are looking for a doctor that will look after you and take a interest in your personal health, I would not recommend Dr Stecyk.

Dr. Stecyk was our first family doctor back in the mid-80's. I suffered from a distented L1 disc that he mis-diagnosed as a back spasm. I walked around with the pain for 10 years and twice missed 5 weeks of work because of it. When I wound up on a stretcher for the second time at work, the company doctor diagnosed the disc problem and eliminted the pain. With my 2 1/2 year old son, Dr. Stecyk diagnosed a cold, but that night we took him to the Royal Alex where we discovered he had pneumonia. My little boy spent three days in an oxygen tent.

In my opinion and personal experience does not take into consideration your prior medical history and diagnosis, very anti in the use of narcotics(even though a patient shows an medical established history that requires such treatment) and seems to judge people on a personal basis firstly in determining treatment not on medical facts.Would I trust him-NO_NO_NO_
