Best dentist I ever had. I don't know what people are saying he doesn't talk and is not friendly; that is exactly opposite of what he is. He makes you feel comfortable and talks through the appointment. He is very quick to refer to specialists if he thinks neeeded. He is very good at what he does.

This Dentist needs to learn when to refer patients to a specialist rather than try to do unnecessary extractions. He did not get another opinion, extracted a wisdom tooth and did severe nerve damage and damaged adjacent tooth. I got an infection and was extremely ill for many months, and now have long term problems in that area. He is very lucky I did not persue legal action, and lucky colleagues tried to cover his mistakes.

I would not return to this Dentist. T took my son to him for many years, and wondered why he never did any fillings, just kept saying oh their small. Once I left I got two other opinions and my son needed significant dental work, as well had an undiagnosed severe orthodontic problem. This dentist needs to go back to Dental college or retire.

Dr. Sugiyama has been my dentist for over 10 years. I drive up from Salt Spring because I think he's so excellent. He has the technical expertise, everything is explained carefully, he never rushes and always answers questions fully. I recommend him completely.

Dr. Sugiyama did not wear a mask at any time during the exam. Also, he only wore one glove which I thought was unhygienic. He said I have a small cavity but that he doesn't bother to fill cavities if they are "small."

I have been going to Dr.Sugiyama for 20 years and have never had a problem. He is very knowlegable and a very good dentist. Will always send you to a specialist when a special problem appears. Other members of my family also go to him and they are also very happy with his work and how helpful he is. I would recommend him to anyone. His office assistance have always been nothing but friendly and I have never had a problem with Dr. Sugiyama not getting messages.

A wonderful dentist. My family has been going to Dr. Sugiyama for many years. He is very knowledgeable and very will answer any questions you have. He makes you feel very comfortable and will talk through what he is doing. I have never once felt any real discomfort while he was working on my teeth. Would recommend him to anyone.

He is good in ways that he always is talking you through, what ever you are having done, so kind and gentle. But when his day is done he is gone out the door. He needs a new frount staff, as when a message is left he never gets it. And he needs some qualifidied mature staff to help him in the back while he is working on you. People don't seem to stay with him working for him, to high of standards and he doesn't even reach his standards his self, in his work practices, whether this be because of inexperiance staff or his own work practices.

Gerry seems genuinely intersted in his patients well being (unlike some other dentists who are interested more in time/$$$). Gives excellent advice & does excellent work. Is patient and thorough.

Dr. Sugiyama has been my dentist for probably 20 years now. He is a good dentist with alot of knowledge. He isn't very talkative though and just does his job and moves onto the next patient. He is very good at his job though.
