My husband, myself and two girls have been going to Dr Yip for 25+ years . His professional attitude, advice, diagnosis has always been approached in a respectful manner . However, we did not run to him for every little ailment . We ran our own business for years and when I see the rude comments about Dr Yip, I question the integrity of the people writing the comments. If their own personal problems overshadow truth and honesty , then continue shopping for a “ perfect” doctor to address your mental , emotional and physical needs . I’m not looking for a doctor to coddle me . Start utilizing a DOCTOR for what they went to school for !

Most unprofessional doctor ever. Family's been going to him for years and he's only gotten worse over time. He doesn't like giving his patients referrals to see specialists so that he can maintain his "power" over them. He doesn't respect the patient's wishes, and is consistently arrogant (insecure) and petty. He doesn't like it when you ask questions as he feels threatened and challenged by them. In other words, he likes to abuse his power to make up for smaller things (BRAIN!). I hear he will be retiring next year. The sooner the better. He's done more harm than good.

Worst doctor ever. Dr. David Yip, whose office is in Terra Losa in Edmonton, is the most arrogant doctor I’ve had. After seeing him for a couple of years, I decided enough was enough and that it was time to find a new family doctor. He doesn’t like it when you ask questions; he feels threatened by your questions because he feels they encroach upon his integrity and intelligence as a physician. That tells me the guy has a big ego, who doesn’t like to listen to his patients because he thinks he’s a “big and important doctor”. The reality, however, is that he’s not even worthy to be called a doctor. A real doctor truly listens to his patients and does not dismiss them. A good doctor is compassionate and caring, not insensitive and insecure like Dr. David Yip. When I was calling The College of Physicians and Surgeons to see which doctors are still accepting new patients, the receptionist said Dr. Yip was still accepting new patients. Like seriously?! Why would a doctor, who’s been established for years at Terra Losa STILL. be looking for new patients? That tells me many of his patients probably ditched him because he’s such a lousy doctor. He has no bedside manners as a doctor, is curt and rude, and is never thorough and exhaustive with his examinations. There have been several times where he’s missed something very important in his diagnoses with me, and fortunately they were caught by another doctor. So not only is Dr. David Yip an arrogant, pompous individual, but he’s a poor doctor as well.

I have been going to Dr. Yip for many many years now. I will admit in the past I was not pleased with how sharp he was with me and my family. I'm not sure what has changed but over the last few years he has been way more cheerful and helpful. He also goes out of his way to find out about programs or medication that would benefit my family and I. And of course Amber his receptionist is amazing. She always knows us and is beyond friendly and helpful.

I had him for about 10 years. He really is getting worse. I totally identified many bad comments people previously posted e.g. he has no patience, is unsympathetic, he does not like patients to ask questions.

When my girlfriend's little 9 year-old boy kicked me in the groin, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. David Yip at his Terra Losa Medical Office. I needed to see him as the pain I was feeling had not subsisted for several hours. At the clinic, I had to wait for about 45 minutes. The receptionist was not helpful. What was worse was Dr. David Yip himself. He was very unsympathetic about what had happened. As a matter of fact, he even questioned me about my relationship with the boy, saying that I was "nothing" to the child since I was not his real Dad, only his Mom's boyfriend, and that I had no right disciplining the boy and laying a finger in him. I told Dr. Yip that the little kid is unruly, naughty, and physically aggressive, but he didn't seem to care. He seemed to imply that I was to blame for the boy kicking me in the privates, and that the boy was only reacting to me intimidating him and quote, "bossing him around." Dr. David Yip told me, "Why would a little 9 year-old kid kick you in the balls?? That's not normal! You better watch it." As he examined my testicles, he was rough, rolling the organs around with his fingers and applying slight pressure which only exacerbated the discomfort . He told me he was only looking for any swelling or rupture, and that it was necessary for him to feel and examine my testicles thoroughly. After about a minute of such rough handling, he said, "Your balls look okay" (yes, he kept using the word 'balls' throughout the appointment). "There's no swelling from what I can see," he added. Fortunately, the pain in my testicles finally went away the next morning, though they still did not feel 100 percent normal for about a week. I called Dr. Yip about this, but he kept telling me that that was normal, according to him, "That's what a kick in the balls does!," he told me with a slight chuckle. I couldn't believe his insensitivity! When I asked him something, he snapped "I already answered your question! How many times do I have to keep repeating myself?" Dr. David Yip is a terrible doctor who is not only insensitive but arrogant. Never again will I go see him.
