I was waiting for over 2 months to get a first appointment while desperately needing the treatment for Lyme. Doctor Deshaw is very matter of factly, lacks compassion, took him over a year to finally warm up somewhat. He follows a standart fit all meds regimen and when I ased about a very affective herbal treatment advised to use in conjunction with the antibiotic he just poo-pooed it.Prepare to wait no less than 40 min in the waiting room and at times just as long when already in the exam room for the doctore to show up while the actual time with the doctor lasts 5-10 min at the most. He never returns calls and if the symptomps persists instructs his administrative staff to call the pharmacy with the steroids prescription without even talking to the patient directly!!!

There is no doubt Dr. Deshaw is knowledgeable and a nice doctor, but getting to see him or getting him to return a phone call is impossible. His office staff leaves much to be desired. My son was diagnosed with Lyme disease and I guess they feel it is okay to wait six weeks for an appointment before he is treated. Thanks, but no thanks! It is a great thing to be a great doctor, but too many patients’ lead to a lack of care. That makes one wonder what the real motivation is…

Had to wait 2 months for the appointment which was a very long two months for me... When seeing Dr.Deshaw I was relieved, but that didnt last long when after i asked for him to return my calls or send me the test results with no answer. My opinion go to a proffesional not some quack who is just after your money!

At first I loved Dr Dehsaw, he was thorough, and caring. Then he prescibed me something I got an awful allergic reaction to.. twice. When I would call into the office, they would tell me he was going to call back, and he never did. Because he got off my insurance, and never told me my results from my last appointment, I requested he called me to discuss it and he never did. I am not sure if it was him or his staff fault, but I called in for a total of 4 times, and he never called me back, so I have not been back. Also, when I asked him how long I would be on a specific treatment because my symptoms were coming back, he never gave me a definite answer, or he would just tell me something, but not uphold it.

Yes, I had to wait a long time to see him, but it was very well worth it! Who cares if you have to wait if he is the only one that can help! My daughter has been sick with Lyme for two years and he is the only one who has helped her. He listens to her and treats her with respect. He is honest and doesn't make a lot of promises (which is what we had been hearing for the past two years). She is still undergoing treatment but we are confident in him. He is very knowledgeable.

I have had Lyme for many years. This Dr. has given me back my ability to to work. He treats aggressively and does not give up on you like most infectious disease Dr's. He is kind, caring, listens to your input. He treats aggressively and I am forever thankful to him for giving me my life back. I rarely have to wait longer than 15 minutes. If other patients have had to wait they should know that it is rare and should have given him more of a chance. They are in for a big surprise when they try to find a better Dr. to treat this complex disease. He is the best in my book. He also takes insurance which is a very big plus.

I have seen Dr. DeShaw twice. My first visit was what I expected - a little bit of a wait, Dr. D discussed my Lyme symptoms and previous treatment and after another small delay, blood was drawn. I had a follow up appointment in early October. I waited almost 1 hour to be taken to an exam room and another 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor. After the visit, blood was drawn again. After not hearing for 2 weeks, I called for bloodwork results with no response. I called after another 2 weeks and was told he read the bloodwork, but didn't have anything to discuss with me. I asked for a copy and found something that concerned me, which prompted me to call and ask him to speak with me - probably a 5 minute conversation. I am still waiting for a response from the doctor. I will be canceling my upcoming appointment and finding a doctor who is willing to listen to my concerns and respects my time.

Had an appointment at 3:45 PM, and waited till 5:20 to finally enter the secondary waiting room to be seen. I was seen by a tech who took my temperature, and my blood pressure, and then waited another 20 minutes. The clock in my head said I have had enough. I preceded to vent at the staff regarding the situation. I will admit that my actions were inappropriate, vulgar, and disruptive, but that doesn't mean that anybody should have to wait almost 2 hours to be seen. The bottom line is that doctors overbook to satisfy their ability to make a living. Why should other people have to suffer and be inconvenienced so that they can make a living and I can't. I am a salesman and possibly lost income due to the disrespect of my time. No apology from the staff at all. Bottom line, my time is valuable too.

I saw him after months of searching for the cause of my illness and after many other doctors ruled out more common diseases but looked passed lyme. He was the one that saw that it was clearly a case of lyme disease and I was treated. I recovered. He listens and cares a lot about patients. His fees are also very reasonable.
